“Great locale”
Stayed for three days in August and had a good time. Room was ok, hotel condition was average but location was wonderful. The manager was very accommodating, but the front desk person was ok (felt like we were imposing on her time). The two men working beachfront were excellent. Would return again.
“A Go-To Location in Laguna”
A beachfront resort with above average amenities for a reasonable price. Parking is free, but can be scarce. Great continental breakfast and excellent location near scuba/surfing beach in the heart of real Laguna. Best amenity: a kitchenette with refrigerator and electric coffeemaker. Stash some groceries for breakfast and lunch, and then splurge at Jack's or Bistro 75 for dinner.
“Slapping granite on an older building is not an updatw”
Location is great on beachfront, hotel is an old building with some minor updates, the breakfast is really continental- two loaves of bread, a couple of Danishes and coffee / juice. the skinny man that serves it is rude and not very courteous. It is less expensive than the surf and sand but the accommodations equal the price. No central air -stand up air unit that do not cool correctly . Water run slow and was turned off during the day. Parking is minimal and tight. The pictures fool you into believing it is a new property but it is not. The location is actually a couple of miles from all the fun and activities. The counter service was nice and they should work at suf and sand. In all honesty I do not believe I would stay again I would try to locate anoth location like best western or pacific edge
“Love this place”
Excellent location and rates. Layout of hotel has old style charm, especially being right on the beach. Several patio/balcony areas throughout accomodate small to large groups. Short taxi ride to downtown Laguna. Would definitely stay again.
“Harry Potter's cupboard under the stairs”
We feel fortunate to have been able to get a Saturday night room here on 3 days notice. The staff was great. The hotel is quaint. Our room was a little funny. It felt more like a cupboard under the stairs than a room. Lying in bed, people on the stairs sounded like thunder. Fortunately, the quests stopped running up and down the stairs a short while after we went to be and it was quiet at night. The beach here was nice. The hotel provides umbrellas and chairs for guests. The hotel is right on the beach. There are some picturesque winding stair cases that go down from the rooms to the beach. As you descend the stairs past other rooms, they look like more like little cottages than part of a big impersonal hotel. Some rooms have great views. Ours looked out onto the parking lot. (We knew we didn't pay extra for a view.) Since we didn't spend much time in the room it was fine for us. On Saturday night walked to a club in Laguna (about 3/4 mile up the coast). There is a shuttle, but it was faster to walk. We had a late lunch in a nice Mexican restaurant just two blocks down. Nice place, nice Greek art reproductions, but next time I will try to get something a little closer to the center of town, but still on the beach.
“Will go back”
older hotel crews working on rooms so alittle noisy. Nice hotel employees
“Capri Laguna-Inn on the Beach, December 2009: "Okay"”
I like this hotel because of its pretty location right on the beach side of the Pacific Coast Highway. But I have mixed opinions about this place. PROS: It’s close to the beach and away from the hustle and bustle of the main downtown strip of the Laguna Beach crowds. CONS: The room I originally booked, 504, had a bad musty smell, the cable TV wasn’t working, and the mattress sunk as you sat on the bed. They gave me another room and the second one, 603, was much better. The carpet and mattresses were acceptable but not new. The other PLUSES were the microwave and the mini-bar refrigerator. CON: The wireless internet which costs $4 a day from your room has zero signal strength and poor quality. If you plan on getting just e-mail that may be okay, there is a poor wireless internet connection. There are two computers in the lobby that you can use for free. Another CON: The free continental breakfast should not be attempted; you get 100% better nutrition and coffee at your local restaurant or grocery store down the street. Overall, FAIR to ACCEPTABLE for comfort, and I give the quaint location of the hotel an ‘A’ but the amenities of the property of the rooms only a ‘B or C.’ There has been frequent new management changes of this property throughout the years and I give this present one a ‘B’ for their effort in trying to upgrade and renovate the rooms at this time. Hotels are always overpriced, so do yourself a favor and always ask to see the room before taking it!
“Location, location, location”
The hotel is satisfactory, rooms are ok, not great, employees were very friendly. The main attraction is the great location, right on the beach, and within walking distance of some great restaurants.
