Good location to beach and restaurants in area.

Posted May 28, 2015
Pros: Front desk staff very helpful in changing our room request.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Close to the beach and all beach activities.
We just stayed for 1 night, but it was adequate for our purpose.

Nice hotel--near the beach and shopping.

Posted May 23, 2015
Pros: It is convenient--close to everything in Dana Pt.
Cons: The "renovation" still is slow.
Location: We like restaurants. There are a ton of good places within 10 miles.
We have stayed there for over 25 years. The renovation is taking its time, but, at least this time, it is making progress. However, the TV in the room is still at least 15-20 years.

Walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: The rooms and its location to everything.
Cons: Sometimes the people at the desk aren't the friendliest people.
Location: We love shopping in the shops and having a variety of places to eat all close to the hotel. I enjoy walking along the harbor.
We enjoy not having to drive anywhere once we check in. Everything is within walking distance. The beach, shops, harbor and restaurants are all within a short walking distance. We visit every year as a tradition. We love the hotel and the quality rooms.

Clean, but really run down

Posted May 4, 2015
A lot of money for facilities in dire need of upgrading. Everything feels "worn". I've stayed at $50 Best Westerns that were nicer. Continental breakfast is really lacking. I've had better food from a craft services table at a game show.

Beautiful location

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: The location and the general Inn amenities were the good points for this hotel.
Cons: Room ventilation could be greatly improved. There is no central ventilation. Things were stuffy and there was an underlying faint odor.
Location: Included in experience.
The Dana Point Marina Inn is in a beautiful location with easy access to the restaurants and shops in the marina. Many of the local attractions are an easy drive or long walk from the Inn. They had a typical continental breakfast to start the day. The rooms were pretty clean. The bathrooms are updated and are adequate but could use some ventilation. The rooms are a little stuffy, the decor is dated and some of the furniture needs to be replaced. The carpeting is relatively new and clean. The inn in general is in good shape with a pool and several patio areas. The common areas are clean and well appointed. The fitness center only has a few treadmills and stationary bicycles. Overall the stay was pleasant and I would go back.

It was the perfect location for our stay.

Posted Apr 3, 2015
Pros: The location was perfect.
Cons: The wifi.
Location: For us, the "baby beach" past the marina; great for toddlers, kids, paddle boarders, walking and biking trails.
It was exactly what we were looking for in a place to stay. It put us in walking distance to the restaurants, shops, harbor and park; and easy driving to beaches, Laguna Beach and Capistrano. The staff greeted us warmly and were courteous the entire time. The room was comfortable and had all we needed to relax. The only glitch was the wifi wasn't working and half the tv channels were fuzzy. We would definitely stay there again.
