overnight getawayPosted Nov 14, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness, location, comfy bed.
Cons: Cooked eggs instead of hardboiled in the mornings breakfast? Some bacon or hash browns?
Location: Italian and seafood restaurant, a few stores also.
Room is cosy and very historical. The gas fireplace is a big bonus whilst relaxing watching tv or simply overlooking the ocean from your windows. Keep in mind that the rooms are very close to front desk check in, and the floorboards bounce sound vibrations and people chatter right through your room. And if you want to sleep in on a wednesday morning, then I would suggest you don't check in on a tuesday as the street sweeper drives up and down the front street and all of the car-park, which feels like forever before the noise is finally gone. This happened at approximately 4.30 to 5 am. Other than that, the location is great and there is a very nice italian restaurant next door.

Convenient to beach and variety of bars and restaurants. Room was nice but without any amenities, i.e. Coffee/tea or bottled water. Mattress was soft, worn and uncomfortable. Room 8 is the corner room next to the 24 hour donut/coffee shop that attracts loud, noisy, drunk revelers at all times of the night and early morning. Not a place to be if you're looking for a "quiet" get-a-way. NOT worth the cost of the stay.

Very quaint hotel with excellent viewPosted Oct 25, 2013
My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. The hotel itself is beautiful and very charming, less than a block from the beach! However, the front desk was only staffed for three hours in the morning and we had to go to the restaurant downstairs for assistance. Breakfast was also very disappointing (just bagels and fruit).

Absolutely charming!!! Beach access amazing.Posted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Location, atmosphere and convenient parking.
Cons: hum..... I don't know?
Location: Newport Beach, shopping, biking, resaurants
I couldn't have picked a better place for a special get away with my girls. The Doryman's Inn is a charming retreat. The location is fabulous; next to shopping, restaurants, and most importantly for me, the beach! I loved the antique, traditional, european furnishings. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was fresh and delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I hope to go back again soon.

Beautiful place with ocean views.Posted Oct 6, 2013
Pros: The hospitality of the staff and the comfort and cleanliness of the room. Of course, the ocean view was spectacular too.
Cons: I wish there were a few different choices for breakfast during the week. The front desk staff aren't always at the front desk, but always close.
Location: Perfect location at the Newport Beach Pier. Steps to the beach. The Crab Cooker is yummy! Rent a bike and check out the Wedge,
This quaint, little, I'd call it a boutique hotel, more than a B&B sits right at the end of the pier in Newport Beach. The rooms are all very spacious and clean. The hotel staff is very attentive and accommodating to their guest's needs. The beds were very comfortable and everything was in good working order. The breakfast in the morning was fine. It never changed, so as long as you are there for just a night or two it's fine. We were there for a week and after the first morning of mini-frozen egg quiches, I was ready for something else, which was cereal and fresh fruit the rest of the week. All-in-all, the place was perfect for our stay in California. We were able to easily walk to restaurants and shops and close enough to other wonderful towns to explore also.

Good location, right on beachPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: Loved the people and the down home sort of vibe.
Cons: Could use some updating, especially the carpet. It's old and it doesn't give you that clean feeling. Luckily I had slippers!
Location: Loved the fish market and the pier right behind the hotel.
Kind of an old saloon sort of feel...funky but different and fun. I told them I was gluten free and found special bread with my name on it on the breakfast table...very thoughtful.

Amazing little hidden gem on the beach'!Posted Sep 8, 2013
My husband and I stayed only one night, but next time will be longer for sure! Incredible location right on the beach in Newport. Our room was off the cute little breakfast terrace, so yes you could hear the partygoers at night but it didn't bother us and we fell asleep fine without earplugs. Next time though I think we'll try for an ocean view room, we arrived early and peeked through a few other rooms and our jaws dropped at the view! The rooms were cool (especially the antique canopy bed) and totally took you back in time. The only thing was our room was very dark, but luckily for us we had plans all day, and plus we were on the beach so why would we spend too much time in the room during the day anyway?! Also, I think replacing the fake flowers that were scattered about with fresh ones would be a nice touch. My husband expected a little more from the continental breakfast as this was a B&B, but I was happy with it--the quiches were yummy! I think the coffee could be improved though. With all that being said, the negatives are really just our being nitpicky, this place is SO awesome and such a hidden gem. We are definitely coming back and bringing friends along next time!
