Family friendly hotel by the beach

Posted Jul 22, 2015
The hotel in itself is pretty old, but for a family, it was great value, the rooms accommodate a family of 6. The staff were extraordinary, they went above and beyond what was expected to make our stay comfortable.

Under construction, RUDE front desk experience

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: It was close to downtown.
Cons: The rude people working the front desk. The quality of the rooms.
Like others, we weren't aware of the construction at the hotel (though it explains the sort of discounted room rates). The expedia page is not accurate re: fees (parking $22, pet fee is $50 per night). The room itself was crap. The best feature was the pull out bed in the "suite" for our kids to use. I wouldn't expect an adult to be comfortable on that bed. There were ceramic floor tiles in the bathroom that physically shifted and moved when walking. The TV has nothing to offer as far as cable channels. They want to charge for everything, even on demand PBS shows! Forget about Wi-fi in your room, there's a charge for that too. I guess they think, "At this price point, people can afford to pay $12/day for wi-fi." But it's insulting. The worst part of this hotel was our check in. Our room was not ready at 4 pm (check in time). We waited for 30 minutes (with 2 cranky, hot kids) as the front desk person used her walkie talkie to check with housekeeping (because the computer system wasn't updated). No luck, she said maybe by 5. She offered free drink vouchers, we left for dinner. We came back at 7, checked in finally with a different person, and he refused to give us the drink vouchers, saying the other person "lacked authority to offer them." He was really arguing with me about a couple of stupid vouchers. We went to our room, and guess what? It was NEVER CLEANED. I'm not sure what is going on here, but why is it so hard to clean rooms on time and be polite to guests?

No amenities, roof leaking,terrible hotel.

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: .???
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! Roof leaking, no ocean view, people waiting for hours after 3:00 p.m. Check-in, to get in there rooms, not enough bell boys, no aneminties, restaurant closed, no bar opened, terrible , terrible place, building looks good from the outside- but is falling apart on the inside, staff was also rude.

Great room - 4th floor overlooking the ocean. Pool is very very small. But good selection of bar(s).

Ants everywhere, couches are stained and dirty

Posted Jul 7, 2015
Hotel is old. Pool sucks! Ants in your room everywhere. A/C barely worked. Random room charges appear on your bill.

Close to the beach

Posted Jul 3, 2015
Ocean view, was really just peek-a-boo view. There is so many trees infront of the hotel you can barely see the water. You have to pay $22 per night for parking and this was not valet. Room was crowded but efficient.

Needs a lot of work

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Room condition was terrible. Drawers did not close correctly. Bathroom and room need reconditioning. The lobby was being renovated and workers nearly knocked us over getting on and off elevators which were being renovated same time as steps were being redone

Estancia en el Double tree

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Nuestra estancia fue breve pero no fuimos afortunados con las instalaciones porque el hotel esta en plena remodelación y eso provoca muchos inconvenientes, sin embargo las habitaciones son amplias y cómodas y el hotel tiene una buena ubicación
