Noisey, no fridge, bad view

Posted Mar 14, 2014
Room was in a taco drive thru and dumpster. Chose this hotel for breakfast. Disappointed in variety. Expected fresh fruit variety. Rooms windows were dirty enough to ruin the view of taco drive thru. Wont stay there again. No room refrigerator. Tv remote was annoying.

Just fine but second choice

Posted Feb 3, 2014
The hotel offers the rudiments: a clean and comfortable room and a consistent experience at a reasonable price. That is no trivial thing. But the hotel is entirely generic and charmless. I prefer the Ayres when visiting parents at Leisure world. The rooms are nicer and bigger. They have washing machines and dryers in every floor, and the free breakfast is much better (eggs and pancakes cooked to order for example). Plus the place is charming if a little old fashioned. However, the Hampton Inn is an innocuous choice. It is just fine if the Ayres is booked.

Pros: Location, easy Freeway access, rates.
Cons: Pillows....need a variety...too big and bulky.

Rooms were clean and large, hotel staff helpful with bringing more towels and pillows, hotel was close to mini mall with Starbuck's and Subway.

We were staying at the hotel on two different nights, at the beginning and end of our vacation. When arriving on our first night it was a little hard to see where the driveway was off of Seal Beach Blvd because we were unfamiliar with the area. Our reservations had been made in August and our stays were for Dec. 22 and Jan. 2nd. Our first night we were checking in rather late in the evening and even so we had no problems doing so. Our second night was the near the same time frame, and the clerk was very friendly and helpful. Our room the first night was very clean and we found nothing amiss. The second night we did notice some candy pieces on the floor that had been missed by the vacuum. Overall though, the room(s) were very clean. We also took advantage of the breakfast bar and were greeted each time by Flora who was very friendly and had a ready smile for us. The food was plentiful each morning and tasty.
