“Worth the money, says Jon Parquette”
Nice hotel about 1/2 mile from the entrance of Disney. Courteous staff, free parking, clean room, good working air conditioner and free breakfast. The eggs were a bit scary, but everything else was fine. Nice value for the money.
“Really nice hotel”
Nice place, very clean and quiet. Free wi-fi, easy walking distance to everything! Breakfast was decent; a waffle maker would make it better. I'll definitely stay here again.
“Excellent service, good location”
We spent the July long weekend at HIE Anaheim Maingate, we didn't arrive until 2 a.m. on Saturday, our room was still available, and the service we received at the front desk was excellent. it is only about a 15 min walk to Disneyland, which is great. This is an older hotel, but very clean, and anyways you're only there to sleep at night, so it doesn't really matter. The free breakfast in the morning is great, but unfortunately it ends at 9:30. We really enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again the next time we are in Anaheim.
“I would happily relive that weekend--especially the U2 concerts:)”
We didn't start out very happy. Expedia overbooked the hotel we had a reservation at, so after driving 8 hours to LA, we found out we didn't have a room. We called the 800 number and roughly an hour later, we were booked into the Holiday Inn Express Anaheim. Our original room had a jacuzzi tub, which was a splurge for us, so we appreciated that the Holiday Inn Express did as well. It was important for us to be near Angel Stadium because we were there to see both U2 concerts on Friday and Saturday, and the Holiday Inn Express was closer than our original hotel, so we were pleased. The room was cheery and the king-sized bed was lovely. The hotel did not have the fastest internet connection or pay-per-view movies, but did have many basic cable channels. The complimentry breakfast was pretty standard, but the hotel also offered breakfast bags "to go" which was great, because we brought extra food with us while we waited in line all day to get the best general admission "seats" for each U2 show. The staff was friendly and helpful(both at the front desk and the room itself). The neighborhood felt very safe, and there were endless numbers of families walking to and from Disleyland. Overall, it was a great experience, and I wish we could do it all again. U2 is a fanatastic live band:))
“Disneyland Suprise”
We were surprising our kids with a holiday weekend trip to Disneyland. This hotel, not being a Good Neighbor hotel was perfect. There was limited DL advertising when we checked in. We only had to walk one hotel east or west to pick up shuttle passes for the days we did shuttle, otherwise we were close enough to walk. The free breakfast was perfect, it saved us $40 each day in food and we were able to eat without a line or being pushed around. The staff was always friendly and courteous. We will definitely stay here next time we visit Disneyland.
“Nice family hotel.”
Good hotel for Disney. 15 minute walk to Disneyland ticket booths and Downtown Disney. One block from brand new restaurants including Cheesecake Factory and California Pizza kitchen. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, and good breakfast buffet. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.
“Would to again.”
It is within walking distance for school age or older children. Reasonable for pushing a stroller. It was close enough to leave and come back after resting in the afternoon. The breakfast buffet was ample but crowded. The desk workers were helpful and the information useable and accurate. Parking was available and I never had to look for a place to park.
“Will stay here next time”
We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 am, and they got us into a room right away. The room and hotel were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was pretty good and included hot items such as eggs, biscuts and gravy, bacon, and sausage. There was also yogurt, breads, and cereals. It was a 10 minute walk to the Disneyland front gate. Several restaurants are within a few minutes walking distance. The staff was very friendly and had great recommendations on getting around, etc. There were bathrooms, a shower, and plenty of extra towels by the pool, hot tub, and sauna. Washers and dryers were also available. Our room and the pool area had a good view of the Disneyland fireworks display. The only thing I felt was missing was a microwave and maybe a freezer in the refrigerator. And I think you can request a microwave for a fee. There is Wi-Fi in the room, and the hotel has two computers with a printer in the lobby for guests to use. The lobby always has coffee and tea available. I am planning to stay here again next time I come.
“Exactly what I expected, no disappointments at all.”
The hotel provided me and my family (wife and 2 girls 11 and 9 years old) everything we needed: clean and comfortable room, 2 beds, lots of pillows, space in the room, TV and AC, pool and hot tub, breakfast and walking distance to Disneyland (bit less than 15 minutes). Definitely would go back and stay at Holiday Inn Express again.
