“Great location and value”

The location of this hotel is PERFECT! Great value for money. You won't find anything else in Laguna on the beach for this price. The weekday cheese and wine happy hour is a great plus. We had a girly getaway and thought the hotel was in a great spot; we could walk to surrounding bars/restaurants, stroll around the shops, and of course the use of the sunbeds on the hotel's private beach was amazing! Staff were friendly, the breakfast was basic but got us started. If I went back to Laguna on a budget again, this is where I'd stay.

“Old but Comfortable”

For an old place it is well kept. Lacks some amenities like ironing board, iron, microwave. The service and food was very good both at Claes and the outdoor cafe. The lounge was very cozy with a fireplace and great music. The first room we checked in to had a problem and they promptly moved us to another room and generously compensated us for our inconvenience. We enjoyed our stay.

“The Erroll Flynn Suite”

A beach front hotel for a very reasonable price! They were able to upgrade us to the Erroll Flynn Suite! (Yes he stayed in that very room!) It was still just a regular room with a small, old-fashioned bathroom though. But our window overlooked the courtyard below, the street traffic to the left and the ocean on the right! Yes, we fell asleep to the sound of pounding surf! It was easier to take the stairs than the rickety old elevator, but this sweet old hotel has class and charm. The croissants at the free continental breakfast were the best I've ever had! Being able to walk out, go to the beach and then walk aIong PCH on the way back was an amazing experience. I loved it there and would definately stay again. Maybe next time I can get the Bogart or the Bacall suite!

“great getaway”

We had a great time. The hotel is located right in the middle of town near everything. We had an absolutely wonderful dinner at their on-site restaurant. The private beach was great. The room was fine,as we knew it was an older/historic hotel.

“Great experience.”

The staff was incredible. It was my sisters birthday and they upgraded our room and sent a bottle of champagne! The hotel is older, but the location is perfect.

“Love this place!”

Location, location, location! What a ovely spot, and the staff treat you like gold. The hotel is from theolden days and they bring the character and the courtesy of the time out and let it shine. Only one thing that surpised me: the daily paking fee inthe hotel lot; it obvioulsy added to hwat i anticipated as my overall cost.

“CHARM galore - days of yesteryear”

CHARM Galore! I am a pretty picky person when it comes to hotels - cleanliness and up keep is my #1 thing I like. What a nice hotel - beautiful right on on the ocean in a prime location for shopping/ restaurants. Nice staff, clean rooms, breakfast very adequate, large rooms- I would definately stay here again and recommend anyone to stay here.

“Charming hotel with a great view.”

Very charming historic hotel. Restaurant menu is very good. I'm a vegetarian and there were several options for me to eat. Amazing beach view. Green initiatives are used in hotel. Private beach access with employee that sets up chaise lounge and towels with food delivery. Hotel staff very helpful and polite.

“Best Location in Laguna Beach.”

Great Location. Great Location. Great Location. Reasonable Rates. Old but clean. Staff were freindly. Right next to beach with a free beach club. No pool needed. Drinks were a little pricey though.
