NZ Holiday to Disneyland

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Pool area, and able to view the Disneyland fireworks from our balcony.
Cons: Cleaning of the laundry area, it would take much to clean this up a little. The floors are really tacky in the lobby/restaurant.
Location: Easy shuttle distance to Disneyland which is all I really needed.
For the price, really you can not complain. I would rate it as better then I could of hoped for.

Not what it used to be

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: The fireworks were the only thing that was cool.
Cons: Friendly staff, quieter rooms, more comfortable bed.
Location: Disneyland is very close, only a mini mart near the gas station, everything else is a long walk.
I stayed at this same hotel about two years ago (2012) and I have to say it was better then than it was when we recently checked in, Oct 2014. First off the staff at check in were rude to us and pretty much dismissed up after handing over the keys. This hotel is located right on the freeway but the sirens all night were awful, also there were lots of loud guests running up and down the hall at all hours of the night and next morning. The room was just ok, nothing fancy and not super clean but not germ infested. I think this was more a place for kids and teens. We ended up checking out after the first night as we were exhausted and tired of getting treated like we didn't matter by hotel staff.

It was nice for a one night stay. It was alittle pricey, but having the bars and the pool really makes it a nice environment to hang out and have fun.

Good Home Base for Anaheim Travel

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: - Short walk to Disneyland - Spacious hotel rooms - Courteous hotel staff
Cons: - The bathroom could be improved - paint peeling off the tub didn't really look attractive. - Wifi was spotty in our room - could be a lot better.
Location: - Disneyland - Restaurants - Starbucks across the street
My fiance and I stayed at the Hotel Menage for 8 nights. We were content with the room furnishings which included a king sized bed, couch, 50" flat screen TV, desk and more. The room had plenty of space for two people and we never had a problem with moving around. The bathroom was a little outdated and the bathtub/shower could have used a bit of work – nevertheless it got the job done. Personally, I wasn’t a big fan of the shampoo and soap they provided. The shampoo wasn’t as “deep cleaning” as I would’ve liked and the oatmeal soap left my skin a little too dry afterwards. In regards to noise, we didn’t really have a problem. Our room was located near the freeway so there was some noise, but it just sounds like muffled white noise once you settle in. Since Hotel Menage is located just behind Disneyland, the daily fireworks will definitely shake your window. The fireworks are LOUD and sound like gun fire. We didn’t mind it since it only lasted 15 minutes or so, but food for thought if you plan on getting an early sleep at night. Wifi was pretty much non-existent in our room. I would recommend going down to the hotel lobby for better wifi reception. As a person who uses wifi on a daily basis for emails and text messaging, this was almost a deal breaker. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Hotel Menage. Compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at, Hotel Menage felt just average to me.

A nice, but noisy, hotel.

Posted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: Proximity to Disneyland. Affordable.
Cons: Better wifi (on the 5th floor at least).
Location: Disneyland is the reason this hotel exists, though there are other attractions that you can get to via the Anaheim Resort Shuttle which stops here.
The motel-style rooms of this hotel all face on of the three major highways that Hotel Menage is nestled between. So there is no escaping the noise. Inside the rooms, which are very nice and modern, the traffic noise is quiet enough I was able to sleep without difficulty. They are close enough to Disneyland to walk (10-15 mins), which was our primary concern. Though the nightly Disneyland fireworks (9:25pm) will wake you up if you're trying to sleep. Their staff, especially their valet staff, were all very friendly. We didn't try the pool or the restaurant/bar (which was in the same space as the front space, which made that a little noisy). We also had very poor wifi in our rooms on the 5th floor.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating

Pros: The helpfulness of the staff
Cons: Traffic noise on the backside of the hotel
Location: Walking distance to disneyland
I had a wonderful time. Very friendly staff close to disneyland within walking distance. Food was good at the hotel resturant with large serving sizes, staff accommodating to various requests. All employees were genially friendly.. Smiles included. Room was nice for the price paid. Will stay there again.

More than I ever expected!

Pros: The staff was excellent, the restaurant added such a perfect feature for grabbing breakfast before heading out or happy hour when you take a break!
Location: The location is perfect walking distance from Disneyland.
This hotel was perfect. Super easy walk to Disney, excellent restaurant and bars. Can't say one bad thing about it!! I have no doubt that this will be number one on our list when we consider going back.

Our room safe was opened & contents left out !!!

Pros: Proximity to convention center
Location: Disneyland within walking distance
I reserved a room at this location due to its proxomity to the Anaheim convention center. Said room was booked for 3 nights. Prior to attending a convention, we placed many items into the room safe. Upon returning, we discovered that the laptop and many items had been removed from the safe. The items were placed in a clear plastic bag on top of the safe. I was unable to open the safe with the combination that I had programmed prior to our departure. We immediately went to the front desk and informed them what had transpired. The young lady at the desk proceeded to tell me that "that is not possible". WOW. She then said she would call engineering to assist us. After 15 minutes Martin from engineering arrived. I explained the situation and showed him the items that were previously in the safe. He then entered a master code into the safe and gained access. My handgun was in the safe. Although very helpful and professional, he had no explanation as to WHO ACCESSED THE SAFE IN OUR ABSENCE. I COULD NOT SLEEP THAT NIGHT, SO WE ENDED UP LEAVING AT 4 AM. I later spoke to Erik (manager?) while driving home hours later. He said that he would get back to me as I had some concerns about WHO HAD ACCESS TO MY ROOM/FIREARM WHILE I WAS AWAY FOR HOURS. In hindsight I should have filed a police report even though nothing was taken (just rifled through and bagged). No communication among staff members, as nobody had any info about entry to our room. Room access logs/audit trails?

Walking distance to Disney

Posted Nov 5, 2014
Pros: The location. Everything seemed to just be 15 - 20 minutes away
Cons: The wifi, the gaps around the door, it let in a lot of noise
Location: Disneyland is a 15 minute walk which was perfect for us. We also visited Huntington Beach, Hollywood and Newport Beach all were very easy to get to.
The main reason for our trip was to visit Disneyland so the location was perfect. How ever the hotel is surrounded by busy roads and is very noisy. The wifi didn't work very well, especially when the hotel was busy. I personally wouldn't recommend this hotel to any light sleepers.
