“Exactly what I was looking for”
I don't ask for much in a hotel. I need a bed and bath, free from infestations. This hotel had all of that and more. I was surprised it came with a microwave, fridge (which was on its last legs but worked when cranked up all the way), a blow-dryer, and an iron with ironing board. There was an in-ground pool, which was open (but too cold out to use it). There was plenty of parking, and the typically crappy breakfast of toast and bagels with butter or jelly, mini-donuts, coffee & OJ, and cereal. The room had a slight smell to it, but I figured out it was bleach. They do a good job of cleaning, but the carpets could use replacement by now.
The hotel is on a busy street, and you can hear the traffic even with the windows closed. The bathroom lights were on a timer, which would turn off during serial showers (though sometimes it would turn back on). There was a room light which was also on a timer, and you had to turn on the other lights before it went off.
I had a great time, and would definitely do it again. People tell me Stanton isn't a great place to be in, but we had no problems whatsoever. At that price, I would definitely stay there again.
