Over priced for what you get

Posted Aug 12, 2014
It was fine, no big mishaps but for the price, which was $445 a night for "Ocean views" (bathroom had a slight view and the shared walkway had one with phone wires) I feel cheated. I wouldn't recommend unless it was $250 a night.

Great location, hotel felt like an old motel

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: Lovely beaches, Heisler Park and Fisherman's Cove. Laguna town, lovely little shops, surf and art. Sawdust festival and the Arts festival.
We've stayed in Laguna Beach before and wanted a hotel nearer to the town and on the beach side. Laguna Cliffs met these expectations although hasn't really got any sea views to speak of. Heisler Park beach is just round the corner and is a lovely beach, similarly fisherman's cove where there is good snorkeling with lots of fish to see. In fact we didn't go to the main beach once. Hotel positives: Location, cleanliness, free wi-fi, ok pool and hot tub (kept clean and pool man checking daily), beach chairs and umbrellas available to guests, Safeway just up the road, easy walk into main Laguna town, trolley bus route Hotel negatives Rooms a bit dark and felt dated, air conditioning didn't get room cool enough for us, never any fresh towels by the pool, breakfast (croughnuts and coffee) disappointing, pay for parking, hotel, we've met more enthusiastic reception staff (friendly enough but not overly talkative; not small hotel feel), seemed to have a cup shortage! Overall it felt an expensive stay for an ok (nothing more) hotel, BUT this is Laguna beach and perhaps it's location, location, location

Hotel is clean and comfortable!

Love the location! Beach and shops within walking distance. Pool is small but spa is nice. Breakfast is coffee and donut-no fruit or juice! Otherwise enjoyed the stay!

Great experience

Pros: Location, staff, pool
Location: Situated on a great park right next to the water. Easily walkable to downtown. Lots of restaurants nearby.
Great location right on a nice park with views of the water. Helpful staff explained where everything is in the city. Outdoor pool is small but nice. Also has an outdoor hot tub.

Close and convenient to beach

Posted May 24, 2014
We returned to Laguna Beach for our 35 year anniversary and stayed here. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very close to beach, Heisler park, and Las Brisas...all walking distance. Convenient parking under the property. Nice place.

Perfect location for a walk along the ocean

Posted May 22, 2014
Pros: Ocean view (from 2nd floor) Quiet Modern design Friendly staff
Cons: Would be great to have a mini bar in the room or a small store in the lobby to stock the small fridge in the room.
Location: Walk to downtown, take in the beach, great dining
My best friend and I were so pleased with the friendly staff, large room, lots of seating outside for sipping our morning coffee and the Philosophy products in the bath. The best thing was being right along the walking path along the ocean that leads to downtown and lots of great shopping and restaurants. We had beautiful weather so were happy to stroll along to enjoy the great dining in Laguna Beach. I saw that they had a notice for application to sell alcohol so maybe they'll be putting a little bar in the lobby?...even better! Would love to come back soon.

nice little motel

Posted May 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
the Laguna Cliffs Inn is a nice little motel. Rachel at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. She showed us our room before checking in and showed us another one too that we ended up taking as there was a sink and a microwave (traveling with young toddler). The room was clean, air conditioning a little loud but except for the crazy hot weather we had you usually don't new it much. pool is a the smaller side but enough for us. the location is GREAT, couple of blocks away from the busy streets and 1 block away from the ocean. each room faces the ocean even though don't expect to see it much as it is down the cliff. The staff and the location is the major asset of this hotel. coffee and glazed donuts in the morning and warm cookies in this afternoon overall we really like this place

Great place near the beach and downtown

Posted May 17, 2014
Pros: The décor, cleanliness, proximity to the beach and that it's small and cozy, tucked into the hillside.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
Location: Just north of downtown Laguna Beach, within walking distance to a beautiful beach, there's a walkway all along the shore line, breathtaking views.
This was my second time staying here, rooms are clean, there's a pool to relax by and it's just a short walk to the beautiful beach. Just north of downtown, a nice walk but if you really want to take in all the shops, etc I would suggest you drive downtown, 3 minute drive maybe. I also notice they are always improving the place, making changes and updating so that's nice too. Will stay here again definitely.
