Pros: Service
Cons: Having to leave
Location: Walking distance to local shops and harbor
Awesome. Words cannot describe how fantastic this hotel is. Not only was the service excellent, the room standards were top rate. The food/drinks was slightly expensive, but that doesn't put me off going again. The view and gardens are lovely

hidden fees the only problem

wonderful hotel, the only negatives are the "Valet only" parking and the "resort" fee. otherwise a great experience.

Amazing Location, Outstanding Service
Posted Jan 14, 2013
Pros: Location, quality of the food, the amazing service.
Cons: The food and beverage prices were expensive.
Location: Views of the Pacific Ocean and Dana Point Harbor from just about everywhere on the property. Walking distance to shopping, resturants and the beach.
This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. It is expensive, but worth every penny when you consider the location, quality of food and wine and the impeccable service. The staff is friendly and eager to please. Nothing during our stay was overlooked or below a high standard. If you go, you MUST have a glass of wine and tasty snacks at the VUE bar overlooking the ocean. The sun, sea breeze and view of the harbor while enjoying a good bottle and good company is magical. At night, they light the candals and fire pits so you can relax on soft outdoor furniture with a cup of coffee or expresso. The property is above Dana Point Harbor and Shops. Everything is within walking distance. There is a little wine bar on the pier that has live music and wine tasting. We did this before dinner at one of the local resturants and it was like dinner and a show all in one location. Amazing. We are already planning a third visit to the hotel for another weekend getaway!

Family one night stay
Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: Beds were fluffy!!!
Cons: Parking overpriced
Location: Nice ocean view from room
Pool was very average....was expecting a nicer setting. Check in staff were very pleasant. Valets were very nice. Did not like paying $32 to park overnight! AND resort fee....

Too small room and uncomfortable bed
Posted Jan 3, 2013
Pros: The employees were very welcoming and professional
Cons: The room was too small and the bed was very uncomfortable
Location: The location was very nice. The area was quiet with beautiful views
The only positive things about our stay were the friendliness of the staff and the location of the hotel. The room was really small and only one person at a time could stand on the balcony. The bed was so uncomfortable that we got no sleep. We checked out after only one night because we were unhappy with the room. The staff was very professional and welcoming, but it was not enough for us to stay.

superb location
Posted Jan 2, 2013
Pros: location superb!
Cons: all the additional charges
Location: easy walking distance to restaurants and harbor
we were a little disappointed that after paying a substantial sum for the hotel room that there was a charge for all the little things smaller hotels add: internet $12/day, resort fee $15 parking $35 per day + a tip for the valet each time you take your car out to sightsee, no free coffee in the lobby, etc. made for a lot of cash coming out of the pocket. beds were a little soft

Great hotel libed staying here however it was valet only for parking and that's $32/night. Plus a resort fee of $15/day that gets you internet and other fun thinks like access to the workout room and use of bikes and table tennis and other fun tasks. My husband and I found a cute little diner within walking distance of the hotel to eat at rather than pay the $20/person for the breakfast at the hotel. The beach is across the street and salt creek beach is 3 miles from the hotel. Great place to stay just be ready for all the extra fees.
