A Place With PotentialPosted Apr 29, 2015
Pros: Location right off the freeway, easy access to places to eat.
Cons: The place needs an overhaul. Not a major makeover, but some work nonetheless.
Location: You'll need a car.
Little Inn is in a great location if you are driving. There are two good spots for breakfast directly across the street. It is not near the beach. Check-in was smooth and the staff friendly and helpful. But the place had a slightly worn look and feel about it. The room we had was good-sized and the beds, although soft, were amazingly comfortable. There was a refrigerator in the room that was nice to have. The bathroom, while clean, had an issue. The sink drain barely functioned. The staff tried to repair it after our first night and admitted later the sink needed professional help. Overall the room was a bit dingy. But the place was clean and met our needs for a two-night stay. We used the place only as a place to sleep. I wouldn't want to hang out there.

Cute hotel blocks from the beach!Posted Apr 29, 2015
Pros: Close to the beach and downtown, affordable, quaint
My boyfriend and I stayed here for the weekend in San Clemente and had a great experience. The staff was very kind, the rooms were clean, and it was in a very centralized location, about a block away from the downtown area and a few blocks away from the beach, which made for a nice walk. The owners were nothing but wonderful to both of us, very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely stay again next time!

Birthday Get AwayPosted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: I like the location. I liked Luis. I liked the ambience.
Cons: No smoking on the terrace.
Location: Several restaurants nearby. Very close to the pier and beach. Easy to find right off the freeway.
Decided to do a spur of the moment get away with family. I was able to book the last 3 rooms without any problems. Staff was very accommodating, professional, and friendly. We had 10 people in our group. 2 rooms on the second floor and 1 on the third floor. The hotel was very quaint and welcoming. Luis was very pleasant and polite. He went out of his way (or perhaps it is his nature) to accommodate our every need. We will definitely be going back to this hotel and plan on staying longer. I loved the terrace on each floor but would like it better if smoking was not allowed on the terrace.

OK for short stay...Posted Apr 5, 2015
Pros: The young gentleman who checked us in was very nice and polite.
Cons: Sheets! Towels!
Had read comments before we left so were expecting it to be ok. The towels are so small and thin. The sheets were the worst thing! It was like you were using cardboard to cover up with. They were very clean, etc. but maybe a little fabric softener would help. Stayed night before boarding Ferry to Avalon and night when we returned, second stay was in a different room and I saw a "spider" which my husband killed and it was a small cockroach. He searched the whole room, cabinets, drawers but did not find evidence of anymore. Beach view and access???? That would be pushing it. Just run air on A/C unit to drown out the noise from fwy.

Ok hotelPosted Apr 3, 2015
The room is outdated and old that requires fixing on the door and blinds for windows. The furniture and bed need an update. Parking is hard also when the lot is full.

Quaint, in a great location.Posted Mar 28, 2015
Pros: I liked being on the 3rd floor. I am not sure you would have an ocean "view" from the 1st or 2nd. The hotel is old and has funky style. Good location.
Cons: I didn't sample the continental breakfast. The offerings were not as appealing as the donut shop across the street. Parking is in short supply.
Location: About 100 yards from on ramp and off ramp of I5. It would be a long walk to the beach. Donut shop right across the street. Short drive to downtown.
I enjoyed my stay while in San Clemente attending to family business. The location was great because I had many errands to run at various locations. Very easy to get on or off of I-5. The drive along the El Camino Real was fun and got me closer to the beach and San Clemente pier. San Clemente did not have a tourist trap feel to it, even along the main drag. I made a stop at a row of thrift stores and enjoyed both locations of Pedro's Tacos. My room on the third floor had a bit of a view. I could see three things from the shared balcony: The Surf Donut shop across the street, I-5, and then the ocean way in the distance. The room was nice, but the rest of the building is pretty rustic. The balcony out front has a table and chairs. It was pleasant to have the aforementioned tacos outside of the room and catch the afternoon sun. On the other hand you are sharing that space with 4 or 5 other rooms. One or more of those rooms were occupied by some folks who enjoyed some late night partying. Were to have to return to San Clemente, I would stay there again. Parking for a full-sized vehicle is very tight. A larger pick-up truck, camper or RV is going to need to find some street parking.

Disappointing ExperiencePosted Mar 19, 2015
Pros: Location to the pier, restaurants, and freeways.
Cons: Fire the housekeeping staff.
Location: Good location. Recommend walking along the pier. Lots of shops.
Our reservation was for 4 nights and paid in cash. The room was not clean. Bathroom shower curtain was dirty along the bottom along with a dirty tub. The rubber mat had holes. Floors were not mopped and sticky. Only after complaining was the bathroom cleaned. TV cable channels worked the first day, then could not get basic channels. When we asked management to help check-in for our boarding passes we were referred to the public library. The library was under construction and closed for months. Management should have known that. At night it was impossible to sleep due to a bright light outside the room shinning directly towards the bed. No blackout drapes. No coffee packets. Not enough hangers for clothes. Sheets were not changed. Very bad housekeeping staff.
