This is not Newport BeachPosted Dec 6, 2013
Pros: Clean rooms
Location: There are some fun bars nearby.
They write Newport in the name of the hotel, but it's actually costa mesa. It's not a great part of town, very seedy clientelle. The rooms were clean but stark. Not bad if you know what to expect and want to go really cheap. The seedy people usually stay to themselves, but the underground parking area was dark and I kept watching my back.

Average MotelPosted Nov 17, 2013
Pros: There was a nice Pizza place next door.
Cons: Better housekeeping!
Location: It was not too far away from my seminar.
The facilities were not very clean, for example stairs were not cleaned as long as we stayed. WiFi was very slow. We did not get enough shampoo or conditioner for two. There was no breakfast, only some not good tasting coffee. There are definitely better Motel 6 than this one.

Good hotelPosted Oct 25, 2013
Surprisingly nice hotel; the staff (I assume owners) were extremely nice and made sure that I was taken care of. The room was clean; the bed was nice; bathroom was huge and great water pressure. All in all, a good place to stay.

Worst experience everPosted Oct 21, 2013
They assigned us to a room that probably at one time was an utility closet. It barely fit a queen size bed. No closet, no dresser or even a draw, telephone didn't work, no clock radio. Did have a bathroom. I had to use my phone to call desk. When I went down to the front desk he wasn't even looking for another room. He had no excuses except that they had a full house. He finally found another room, still no dresser or draws but had a small closet. When we returned to our room the next day after being gone all day our keys didn't work and the a/c was down to 54 degrees. It was very cold and it felt like revenge because we complained. Good Luck if you stay there.

Convenient location, very basic and works wellPosted Oct 20, 2013
Pros: Price was right and basic needs met, proximity very convenient.
Cons: Install Hair Dryer
Location: We felt very safe going for a walk with our pet, very nice area and the various convenience stores close by made this an easy selection.
We were looking for a budget hotel and the basics, this hotel fit our needs just fine. I didn't realize there was no hair shampoo, conditioner or a blow dryer. These are nice conveniences and one should take note of this when packing items if needed. We really appreciated the excellent rate and the convenience of booking on-line. Very clean neighborhood and stores are in walking distance. We also were happy to know they were pet-friendly, we have a small dog and very easy to manage and travel with. Thank you Motel 6 for a great value and very nice staff to work with.

BOY are these people great with everything!Posted Sep 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stephanie, the best at check in and Mo, fantastic at keeping it real. Love all the hotel staff. Needed a temporary place for my college daughter and her animals till her apartment was ready great great great. Near a Stater Brothers grocery store and Costa Mesa Bark Park for the dog. The room has free HBO, fridge, microwave and my daughter says it reminds her of a European Hostel (that is a compliment). Starbucks about four block down at Fairview. Nice people, nice room, nice location.

Unfriendly StaffPosted Aug 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
The location is convenient but the surroundings are 'unfavorable'. The man that I talked to when I checked in was very friendly (Bakki), but the man that was there later that evening (no nametag but working behind the counter), was very unfriendly when I asked for an iron and an ironing board. He asked me why I parked in a handicapped space when my tag was CLEARLY hanging from my auto's mirror and I am CLEARLY handicapped. Amazing! I will not stay there again, nor will I recommend this particular hotel to anyone.
