Back Bay visit.

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Price, location to Back Bay, quiet atmosphere.
Cons: Pool. Also suite bedroom doors were difficult to open and close. Room 525.
Location: Shirley's Bagels on Bristol is great for breakfast. We used the walking/biking/jogging trails on the Back Bay everyday. Bluewater Grill for dinner.
Great location to Back Bay and service was good. Pool could use some resurfacing but most everything else was good. Breakfast prices were too high at $20.00 per person so we left the property to go elsewhere.

Good but overpriced

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: Convenient to the freeway
Cons: See above - free internet, parking, reasonable food prices. It's NOT a 4 star hotel
Location: See above
The overall room rate was OK - got about 15% off the rack rate, but the add-ons nickel and dime you to death: Self-parking = $23/night; Internet = $13/day; Nothing special buffet breakfast = $20. And this is NOT in the middle of anywhere - 5 miles from Newport Beach center. For a business stayover (as this was) of a couple of nights it was OK, and the facilities were clean etc. But when will these larger hotels stop gouging ?

We lucked out

Posted Oct 16, 2014
We got an amazing room for pretty cheap! The room was massive, with a separate living room from bathroom (separated using french doors). The living room and bedroom were connected to the bathroom, which was also separated between toilet, shower and bath tub from the preparation area. The hotel staff was great and were very helpful trying to find us a last-minute dinner reservation. The only thing that was a let down was that we booked the bay view room, hoping we could watch the sunset on our last night of vacation, but the other half of the building was blocking the view.

Traveling in SoCal

Posted Oct 9, 2014
Pros: Plush and comfortable.
Location: Great access to shopping and the beach. Freeway access was convenient.
Enjoyed my stay at the Marriott Newport Beach. Unfortunately, I was not aware that I had to pay for parking ( $23.00/day) and internet access in my room ( $12.95/day). These extra cost turned out to not be the bargain I thought I was getting.

No parking for customers!

Posted Oct 5, 2014
Cons: Include parking!
Everything was excellent but seems that upper management does not understand that the customers have vehicles and they need the hotel to accommodate them with NO EXTRA CHARGE on parking their cars. That is why I will never stay there again.

From freezing to roasting.

Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: Large room with walkin shower.
Cons: Temperature control of rooms and nickel and diming for any amenity.
The Marriott Bayview Suites is well situated near the junction of Jamboree and Mac Arthur in Newport Beach with easy access to most of the areas freeways. The hotel is OK with spacious suites but is overpriced with additional charges for parking, internet and anything else you can think of. The worst part was the temperature of our room. It was basically uncontrollable. The outside temperature ranged from the high 60s to low 70s but our room was either very cold or if we set the thermostat a little higher, very hot. We just couldn't set it to a comfortable range.
