“Good value, good breakfast, good Light evening meal”
Close to Orange County airport but no plane noise. Close to great shopping.plenty of parking, housekeepers were warm and friendly, as were the men and women at the front desk. Configuration of the entrance and the walls/fences engender comfort and security. It is well managed, the best managed of all the Marriott hotels I have stayed in. Highly reccomemded.
“Friendly Staff, Good Value”
My family and I enjoyed our stay here very much. The hotel staff was very friendly and the location was very convenient. We also appreciated the free parking, which is becoming increasingly rare in OC. Although the hotel is located close to the freeway, it was very quiet and we had a restful night. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety of food and a good presentation. The pool area was pleasant and well maintained. The room itself was clean, but the upholstery on the couch was stained and should be deep cleaned or replaced. Overall, a very nice stay.
“A good place to stay”
The Residence Inn Costa Mesa was a very satisfactory hotel. The room was attractive and reasonably spacious, the bed was firm, the kitchen was very good for a hotel room kitchen, the bathroom adequate. The hot buffet breakfast was good, with oatmeal, waffles, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and once a breakfast burrito. The only minor problem I had with the room was that it was dark - but when you're there mostly to sleep that's not so bad.
“Costa Mesa could be a great hotel...”
Contrary to an earlier reviewer’s comments, these hotel rooms are not renovated apartments. The hotel configuration of this particular Residence Inn is typical of the chain. After staying in a number of Residence Inns, I too was disappointed in Costa Mesa. The furniture is beginning to look tired, the room smelled stuffy and stale and the bed linens were worn to point that there was a hole in the bottom sheet, under my head. The mattress was comfortable enough and the room was quiet. Although it looked clean, there was enough lack of attention to detail that I was never quite sure. I like the Residence Inn chain and plan to stay with them again next week. Probably not in Costa Mesa.
“Residence Inn - Costa Mesa”
Was expecting more traditional style hotel, not rennovated apartments configured for hotel use. Very outdated and dark (limited, poor lighting). This is not what was shown in the pictures on the web site. Was seemingly clean, but comfortable. Bed/mattress not as nice as mainsteam Mariott accommodations, but for the price - was okay considering parking and continental breakfast was free.
“Pleasant stay”
We were very pleased with our stay. Having complimentary internet and breakfast was so wonderful. The breakfast was terrific. The room was comfortable and we took advantage of having a full kitchen plus amenities in room. The kids loved the pool, jacuzzi and work out area. Our only disappointment was that the fire pit was broke. They had games available, but we didn't have a chance to take advantage of that. We were given an area map and coupons and great suggestions.
“Nice place at a good price”
We had a late check-in but everything went smoothly. The room was comfortable and it was nice to get a ground floor given the luggage and the kids. They have a 24 hour food kiosk (drinks, snacks and frozen dinners) that worked out great for us. The kids were hungry and it was late but I was able to purchase Stoufer's frozen mac n cheese dinners which held them over until breakfast. Wish the breakfast hours could go a little longer though especially since we arrived so late and all were tired the next morning. Only complaint was that some of the dishes in the cabinet were not thoroughly washed.
