Great Location

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Ideal Location / Within Walking Distance to Ocean and City / Free On site Parking / Pool
Cons: Provide in room instructions for a/c unit - took 30 minutes to figure out how to work it (internet search) Add microwave. Oil squeaky bath door.
Location: Ocean is 2 minute walk (across street) Restaurants and art galleries a short walk into town. Crystal Cove State Park 15 minute drive up coast
This motel is located on the main road, a short walk to the ocean and restaurants. We had a room in the back without a view, but that was acceptable as it was quieter. The staff was welcoming and helpful - carried one of our bags up to our room and recommended a great Thai restaurant (Thai Brothers) within walking distance. This is an older motel, room appeared a bit dated, but was clean and acceptable. We had a refrigerator adjacent to the bathroom. For the price and what we wanted to do, this motel was a good choice. We would stay there again.

Clean hotel, small room

Posted Apr 7, 2015
The hotel was very clean and nice. Close to the beach. Not very many amenities, no breakfast. The room was clean but very small. Only stayed one night, a longer stay would not be comfortable in such a small room. Recommend getting a room upstairs because it is so loud when you are downstairs.

Depends which room you get

Posted Mar 11, 2015
Pros: Great location to the beach.
Cons: Pictures on the website should be accurate to show what you are getting for your reservation.
Location: The motel is very close to Heisler Park and the beach.
We recently rented a dbl room for two nights. we were assigned room 210 which turns out to be a well decorated but tiny room with a tiny window in the bathroom. Ok for children perhaps but a real squeeze for 2 adults. Fortunately the staff agreed to move us the second night to a brilliant room overlooking the pool and a king sized bed.

Comfortable Hotel

Posted Feb 12, 2015
The front office management was very nice and accommodating, and the room was clean and nicely decorated, but simple. You do get noise from the PCH in the front rooms, but they provide ear plugs for this reason. It's not a luxury hotel, but it's an easy walk to the beach from here, and is a great deal. Just know that for the price, you're not paying for luxury. They do have a pool and a fire pit to sit next to at night. One other note, they describe the bed in Room 201 as a queen, but it seemed more like a full bed than a queen to me.

Reasonably priced hotel not far from the beach

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Location, beds.
Cons: Bathrooms, office hours
Location: Beach! Good eating within a mile.
This hotel is clean and comfortable, beds especially nice. A/C worked well. A few minor things. There are these HUGE dressing rooms and tiny bathrooms, with an especially tiny shower and no counter space. It would be much better combined into once nice bathroom. Also, it was odd that all the bulbs were incandescent. Today's nice "warm white" CFL and LED bulbs would waste a lot less energy. Hot water was so hot you had to be careful not to scald yourself - another waste of energy. My only other issue is that the office doesn't open until 8am. We had to leave at 7:30 and there was no provision to leave room keys. All that said, a pleasant place at a fair price.
