Location.

Posted Sep 17, 2014
Pros: The location the ease of parking and the kitchenette. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The building is dated and needs upgrades.
Location: Easy walk to the beach along with a pharmacy and grocery store next door. Right on the main street in Laguna.
The location is perfect for heading to the beach, only a short walk to great sections of Laguna Beach.

CLOSE TO VERY PICTURESQUE BEACH

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: THE HOTEL IS OLD BUT REFURBISHED NICELY. THE BREAKFAST OFFERED IS THE BARE MINIMUM, BUT THERE ARE PLENTY OF PLACES CLOSE BY TO EAT.
Cons: THIS HOTEL IS ALL ABOUT THE CHEAP PRICE AND ITS VERY GOOD LOCATION.
THERE IS A NICE SHOPPING CENTER WITH RESTAURANTS AND A SUPER MARKET RIGHT NEXT TO THE HOTEL. YOU WALK ACROSS HIGHWAY 1 AND DOWN NICE STONE STAIRS OR A PAVED ROAD IF IN A WHEEL CHAIR LEADING TO A PARK OVER LOOKING THE OCEAN WITH FANTASTIC VIEWS THERE ARE MORE STEPS AND AN ACCESS ROAD GOING DOWN TO THE BEACHES. THE ROAD IS FOR FOOT TRAFFIC OR WHEELCHAIRS. THE BEACH HAS LIFEGUARDS.

Beautiful grounds, close to beach and grocery.

We were in Room 106 and the maids/carts were always in front of our window. No artwork on any wall in the room and the bathroom was in a state of "covered up" decay. And why no fresh bananas -- only old...and maybe some individual peanut butters in addition to the jams and cream cheese? Otherwise this motel is a steal in this very special area. It is comfortable/adequate.

Needs a paint job

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: It was convenient to the beach and tram stops
Cons: It needs a makeover especially a paint job. It looks very tired, old and outdated
Location: beach, art festival, scenery
It seemed very tired and run down. The experience was non eventful nothing really bad or good

comfortable hotel, walk away from a beach

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: comfortable and affordable. Easy access to Laguna
Cons: buildings little bit tired, needs a facelift
Location: Laguna Beach is a lovely town, with lots of good restaurants, great beaches and lovely parks. Disneyland, LA, San Diego are all a small drive away.
A comfortable family hotel,( not luxurious). Nice pool. Adequate free breakfast. Easy access wifi. Lovely beach just over the road, with a free shuttle bus to Main Beach, which saves any parking stress as Laguna can get very busy. Hotel staff very helpful.

Location was perfect!

Posted Aug 15, 2014
The location was perfect for my family. Right across the street from the beach, very close to a grocery store, CVS and restaurants. One night we took the free trolley. The stop is right in front of the hotel. The staff is very polite. Be prepared for a busy parking lot but that's expected for all the conveniences so close by. We are definitely rebooking next summer.

Fading quality over time.. .great location, but...

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Location is great. Nice landscaping. Clean pool. Good affordable restaurants in complex and Albertson's with Starbucks. Mini fridge. 200 Yds to ocean.
Cons: New firm beds. Regular pillows. Clean, new carpets.
Location: This hotel is in a great location, across the Hwy. from the Montage. Easy parking and free shuttle stop to downtown right outside the hotel.
We've stayed here several times. The rooms are getting very shabby. The "queen" was more like a full, and super soft and lumpy. The pillows were huge and lumpy, but most disturbing was the strong smell of carpet cleaner over a worse smell. We came in late, the only room they could move us to was on the parking lot and Coast Hwy, which we declined to be in a lighter, quieter room. They took out the jacuzzi, which was sad, but the pool was clean and heated. The is free breakfast- bagels, coffee, juice... but perhaps better to go to Laguna and the Heidelberg Bakery.
