“outdated, dirty, and poor service”

Besides the fact that the decor needed serious updating the room was not clean at all. There were dust bunnies at the top of the walls and the tub was disgusting. We later realized that this was because the tub and sink did not drain properly. When we called to see about someone fixing this problem a man brought over a plunger so we could fix it ourselves. Didn't realize we signed up to be there plumbers.

Area recommendations

Fatz cafe was the only thing worthwhile in Orangeburg SC. Good food and exceptional service!

“"FUNGUS INFESTED"”

I RECENTLY STAYED AT THE HOWARD JOHNSON IN ORANGEBURG SC ON SEPTEMBER 30TH 2011FOR AN ANNUAL MEETING THAT I ATTENDED. THE ROOM APPEARED TO BE CLEAN BUT IT WAS NOT, FIRST OF ALL YOU CAN SEE THE OUTSIDE FROM THE INSIDE WHICH ALLOWED ME TO STAY A NIGHT WITH WATER BUGS. SECONDLY I WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING WITH A LITTLE IRRITATION TO MY CHIN THAN REALIZED IT WAS A FUNGUS GROWING OFF OF MY CHAIN. I WENT TO THE DOCTOR MONDAY MORNING 10/3/11 AND IT IS A FUNGUS CAUSED BY UNCLEANLINESS. THE ONLY PLACE I STAY IS MY HOME AND I KNOW THE CONDITION OF MY HOUSE AND IT IS CLEAN. I NORMALLY STAY AT THE HOLIDAY INN BUT THIS TRIP I FIGURED SINCE WE WAS ONLY THERE FOR A SHORT WHILE I WOULD STAY THERE, NEVER AGAIN NEVER AGAIN IT HAS TAUGHT ME A VALUABLE LESSON FOR NOW ON I WOULD BE TRAVELING WITH MY OWN BEDDING AND DISINFECTANT.

“This place stinks”

The room I had smelled like old socks/mold. The bed was uncomfortable, and given the condition of the mattress, I was leery of sleeping in the middle. I was there for work and the internet kept going in and out, so much so, that I went to another hotel and used theirs from the lobby. They should change the model to rent by the hour, not the day.

“well worth the money.”

i took the kids to go visit daddy, because he is working out of state opening new restaurants. the kids missed him, but i couldnt afford to take them every trip. then i found this hotel and was very pleased.the room was big, clean and had a frig and microwave. and the free breakfast was great. if you are coming to this area its a great deal. we would stay there again.

“Pit Stop to Daytona- O.K.”

Got what we expected. Didn't expect to see the hotel maintenance guy replacing his entire exhaust system to his accord in the parking lot. However the next day the upstairs cleaning lady overcame this with a lot of charm and kindness, a super nice employee. By 8am breakfast was a little meager and there was no one cleaning the tables.

“Fun in Orangeburg”

“Highly Recommended!!!!!!!”

Highly Recommended!!! Very Friendly Staff and the room was very clean and comfortable. Had everything you would expect at a much more expensive place. You couldn't ask for more.
