Ok hotel

Pros: Convenience
Cons: Modernization
Location: Good location to 26 and good restaurants nearby!
This hotel is convenient to 26 with some good restaurants nearby. Cost was reasonable but hotel is a little run down and breakfast was only adequate!

traveling south to Florida. Not fancy but comfortable and clean for an overnite stay. Staff very pleasant. close to a variety of restaraunts. Yum -- Cracker Barrel :) Would stay there again and recommend to anyone. Return trip we stayed at Days Inns exit 51 Statesville NC --- not good would never stay there again, nothing good about any of it and would NOT recommend to anyone. Howard Johnson, we will return next trip where ever we go, was a pleasant stay.

We had our pets with us and the only grass was at the front of the hotel. We were in a room at the very back of the hotel. This was a little un handy. Other than that we like everything find.

Dirty

Pros: CLose to interstate
Cons: Wash the walls.
Walls were dirty. We reserved a nonsmoking room but there was an odor of tobacco. Not enough towels or washcloths for our party.

Pros: nothing
Cons: need to improve locking system,,
Location: enought restuarant to go eat
I checked in to room and left to get some thing to eat. Came back to my room but can not get back in. The latch behind door flip over and lock from the in side. I report to front desk and took them total of almost 2 hours to cut that latch down to get the door opened. I have to sit in the car for all that time, not good after along drive and expecting to relax and resting in my room.

It was a good clean motel. The rooms weren't exceptional but very clean. I had a cat and it was no problem. They recommend ed a good restaurant that I could walk to.

My family and I stayed for three days and two nights, which will be our first and last time visiting due to the lack of cleanliness and customer service. When we checked in, the tub was dirty and we had three towels and two wash clothes for five people to use. When we called to ask for additional towels, management informed us that we would have to wait until the morning (the call was placed at 7:30pm) around 9:30 am to get additional towels. Luckily no one smelled like garbage juice so half of the group waited until morning to take showers. Breakfast consisted of all carbs and frozen eggs with watered down juice. With breakfast ending at 9am, we started our trip and returned to the room around 9:30pm at which point the room was not cleaned, beds not made, trash can overflowing with yesterdays trash, dirty tub and once again three towels and two wash cloths. Once we notified front desk, the response that was given was "oh really" at which point she stated that she could move us to another room that was "clean" to accommodate us. Once management was called, he left his room from downstairs to see with his own eyes that the room was not cleaned and decided to take the trash out and give us four towels and three washcloths with an extra trash bag and he just walked away. Needless to say, we will not be staying at a Howard Johnson Inn anywhere.

Not a Pleasant Experience

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: The front desk staff was very nice. Also, they are a pet friendly hotel which was needed.
Cons: Cleaner rooms, appliances and ammenities that function properly.
Location: The neighborhood is a ittle shady and the parking was horrendous. I was in Orangeburg for a funeral so I did not go to any local attractions.
I arrived at the hotel for a funeral after a 9 hour drive. When I got to my room, which was located at the very dark end of an outdoor hallway, I discovered the security latch was broken and the refrigerator didn't work. I went to ask for a second room and when I got to the next room, it was filthy. The shower looked like it had not been cleaned in a month and the rest of the room was dirty...and the refrigerator did not work. Finally, the manager accompanied me to a third room, which was a little cleaner than the others and the security latch worked, so I accepted that room, although the refrigerator did not work in this room either and the manager tried to fix it, and couldn't and did not offer a replacement. After getting settled, I went to watch tv and only a handful of the 40 cable channels worked. The morning after the first night of my 2 night stay, both key cards were deactivated, so I had to spend another 20 minutes getting new ones to get back into my room.
