Perfectly situated near river and castlePosted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: Excellent central location and high quality accommodation
Cons: Nothing springs to mind
Location: On riverbank opposite castle
Helpful staff, room clean and well maintained. The hotel is ideally situated just opposite the castle (take the guided tour if you can). Good restaurants close by. Walking distance from bus/train station and from shops etc.

Great locationPosted Aug 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
The only problem was not something the hotel could.control when I was there. It was unusually hot and the hotel is not air conditioned. Not unusual for Sweden. There was too much street noise to keep the window open but it was ok for rooms not facing the street. All in all a very good experience.

No sleep for a couple of weary travellersPosted Aug 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
Reception crew and restaurant food great. Room horrible. Too hot and too noisy with the outdoor restaurant below. Would recommend not renting the room out we had during the summer months. Also, parking an inconvenience.

Every castle has a hidden dungeonPosted Jul 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel totally sucked! There is a secondary hotel behind the original hotel. We were put on the "7th" floor, which is actually the 4th floor of the back hotel. Hotel #1 (the advertised hotel) is floors 1-5, and hotel #2 is floors 6-7, above a bunch of shops. We were in a room less than 9m2. It was over 80 degrees in the room, with no a/c and a single window, that opened 3 inches that we could see out of if we stood on the desk. It was literally a dormer window, in the attic, crammed between the staircase and the elevator, with a nasty upholstered chair and a dusty Indian rug. Upon check out we told the front desk that it was nothing like advertised and she replied that we should have told her the previous day...all I could think of is "you already knew how crummy the room was when you gave it to us." And no, we didn't get a discount rate. We also had to pay an additional day for parking, because we weren't leaving by 8:00am...as the castle doesn't open until 11:00. We spend approx. 60 days a year in hotels, and this was the worst one ever.

Clean and comfortablePosted Jun 15, 2013
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: No Air-con and the Prom Party taking place below my room without a warning when I checked in.
Location: If you are visiting Orebro then this is a prime location. 5-10 mins walk from station and next door to castle
A good comfortable 3* (IMHO) with basic but adequate facilities. Very nicely placed and extremely pleasant staff.

Hotel is convenient and comfortable with friendly helpful staff. Only drawback is car parking. Parking is not very convenient and is expensive.

Elite Stora in Orebro is a great choice.Posted May 24, 2013
Pros: Location, staff, and breakfast.
Cons: Parking is 30 SEK a day, and internet connection in our room didn't work.
Location: Next door to Orebro Castle, right downtown, can walk everywhere, restaurants galore.
This is our second stay at the Hotell Elite Stora in Orebro and we love it. Location is perfect, view from the room is the Orebro Slott which is spectacular. Front reception staff is very helpful, friendly, and personable. Everyone speaks English beautifully. Best breakfast ever. The rooms are large enough and very clean, comfortable. Restaurants right next door and lots more close at hand. Can walk everywhere. Parking is not free, however, and is about a block away up a tricky steep driveway.
