TO FAR AWAY FOR ANYTHING TO DO OR SEEPosted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: CLEAN, FRIENDLY STAFF. LOOKS TO BE RECENTLY PAINTED. WATER PRESSURE GOOD IN SHOWER AND TOILET.
Cons: MORE VARIETY IN BREAKFAST. HALLWAY RUGS DIRTY, STAINED AND FADED.
Location: ONLY THING CLOSE WAS HOMELAND TRAINING CENTER.
NOTHING CLOSE BY TO WALK TOO. CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WAS LACKING IN VARIETY. MOTEL AND STAFF WERE GOOD. SODA MACHINE BROKEN. WAS TIRED, HAD TO HAVE FOOD DELIVERED.

Not A Pleasant ExperiencePosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: The only positive thing I can say about the Days Inn - Oriskany, NY is that it had a comfortable bed and a good TV.
Cons: Condemn and raze the entire building and build a new facility.
Location: Not much going on in the area, which was fine with me.
Don't be fooled by the lovely picture on this hotel's webpage - that is NOT what the building looks like. The whole building, inside and out, is in poor repair and frankly... should probably be condemned. The brick wall on the backside of the building has a large bulge in it and looks like it could collapse at any time. This Days Inn is located next to a Dept. of Homeland Security training center and is frequently booked by police officers from all over NY for weeks at a time. This is what the desk clerk told me at check-in. I would imagine this is why the place is even open - your taxes keep it alive. The ice machine in the hallway was leaking and the carpet stunk, probably from previous leaks. It was terrible. I would not recommend this hotel (motel, really) to anyone. You get what you pay for.

Worst hotel I have ever been in.Posted Aug 23, 2014
The floors and Walls were filthy. My room stunk like mold. After 20 minutes I had to ask for a new room because I felt like I was getting sick. The walk to the second room was like walking through the bottom of a garbage can. The second room smelt normal, but by this point I was so grossed out that I couldn't sleep the whole night. I would want my pet to stay at this hotel. Days Inn should be horrified to have their name attached to this place.

Decent lodging, affordablePosted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Price was okay for what they offer. I would like to see "weekly" rates for longer stays. I liked the location away from the busy city noises.
Cons: New mattresses.
Location: Located about 10 miles from Rome, no restaurants or activities closer than about 5 miles as far as I know.
I found the motel satisfactory for my stay which required only a place to sleep while visiting family in the area. I was surprised to find the pool "closed for the season" during August which would have disappointed anyone planning on swimming. The Daybreak breakfast consisted of toast, bagels, English muffins, cereal, and yogurt. Again, satisfactory, but some may be disappointed in not finding a waffle griddle. The hallway carpeting is in need of cleaning, understandably so, as I watched some guests dribbling coffee and other stuff as they walked down the hall (lids were available). The "sleep" option on the TV didn't work, but the TV was larger than I'm used to in motels. I found the mattress uncomfortable, but since I was alone I found it a bit more comfortable in the middle of the bed. Over all, I'd stay again.

Pros: The main room was nice.
Cons: The bathrooms and the pool area.
Location: nothing nearby at all.
Grounds need work. Bathrooms are old and in need of remodeling.

Showed its agePosted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Economical way to gain access to Cooperstown during its busiest weekend of the year.
Cons: Condition of the facility -- carpets, ice machine, pool.
Location: Not much near the hotel, but there is retail and some restaurants a few miles away in Utica.
I stayed at this hotel while visiting Cooperstown for Induction Weekend. The room was OK and the staff helpful, but the facility showed its age, especially in the condition of the common area carpets -- very stained. The ice machine on my floor was out of service, and I noticed that the pool was also out of service, although I would not have used it anyway. Better maintenance of the facility is needed.

Not worth itPosted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: close to Hamilton College
Cons: cleanliness, service, atmosphere
There were dead bugs throughout the lobby, hallways, and in the room. My son woke to several on his bed. We opted out of the continental breakfast, as we feared there would be bugs int the plastic cereal containers as well. The pool was half filled with murky brown water and surrounded by broken up wooden deck furniture. If we hadn't paid in advance, we would not have stayed, but we had already spent the $83 for our night. Definitely would not recommend this place. Staff was in short supply as well and left us waiting for 10 minutes at the counter waiting to check out with no on responding to the buzzer.
