Orlando visit, 24 JUN - 01 JUL 2014

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Price, room size, bath towels and front desk personnel and location.
Cons: Clean or replace the carpeting and drapes, paint interior walls to get rid of the stale smoke odors. Some sort of lift. Internal communication.
Location: Conveniently located near several restaurants, a shopping mall, an international airport and theme parks.
I was able to check in rather late (after 1 AM) due to airport delays. My first room had an air conditioning unit that blew warm air only. Fortunately, the on-duty clerk and on-duty security were immediately helpful to assign another room to me. However, there are no lifts (elevators) present. Something to bear in mind if you difficulty with stairs and heavy baggage. Some sort of lift would be helpful for those that need it. Rooms are spacious for a solo traveler. Bath towels were clean, thick and soft. Although most corridors are located indoors, it is apparent that some of these buildings permitted smoking indoors in the past, so there are buildings and rooms that have a rather strong, stale smoke odor. Room attendants, when I did see them, were pleasant, yet inconsistant with their daily service. An internal communication issue, perhaps. So, there are good things, and not so good things present. As this hotel is currently undergoing renovation, it would be difficult to recommend this hotel for a stay longer than a couple of nights. Hopefully, these issues will be addressed and improved upon, soon. Although the hotel appears a bit worn, with a little TLC and elbow grease, it could be a nice place to stay and recommend.

Worst Hotel I've stayed in for many years

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was OK. Room had a fridge and microwave
Cons: The room d├ęcor, carpets and equipment.
Location: Disney, Universal and Sea World
First of all the room was very cheap so it's probably a case of you get what you pay for. I've stayed at other Baymont Inn and Suites that were very good value so I was expecting the same. At this hotel there are no elevators so I had to take the luggage from the car park at one end of the building to the other and up 2 flights of stairs. The room smelt REALLY badly of smoke. There were electric sockets with no covers and many broken items in the room . The bathroom door stuck and I had to ram it to get my 80 year old disabled mother out. The carpet was old and sticky so I had to leave my shoes on when walking about the room. The pillows were small and very thin. The towels were very grey and threadbare.

Nice hotel for price.

Pros: Great rates for a location offering complimentary breakfast and relatively close to Universal Studios and Disney. Hotel room was clean and inviting.
Cons: Coffee maker missing essential pieces seemed to be a big issue as it took a good while for another to be be tracked down.
The room itself was clean and inviting. While I did have a few issues with some of the accommodations (including a coffee pot missing essential pieces needed to brew coffee, a missing Ethernet cable where one was said to be found, and a broken Ethernet wall port) the staff was extremely friendly and more than ready to help fix the issues as soon as possible.

Pros: Proximity to airport and Florida mall
Cons: Bathroom outdated and a bit small, televisions could use an upgrade.
Location: Close to airport but much more affordable than the airport hotels. Close to shopping and food.
We booked this hotel since it was located fairly close to the airport. The room was clean and comfortable. Although I would not recommend for any long duration, this hotel is completely adequate for a 1 or 2 night stay.

Do not stay here

Posted May 14, 2014
Pros: Location and price.
Cons: Lighted walkways and stairwells. Air out the rooms and a good cleaning.
Location: Near airport only redeeming feature.
Location was good. Price was good. I am a smoker so asked for a smoking room. Even as a heavy smoker the stench was terrible had to keep the patio door open the entire time. I went to use the fridge and the odor was awful. Sheets and bathroom clean, rugs and curtains dirty. Fixtures were rusty and towels were grey. Parking was atrocious I had to walk through an unlit alley, I had two small kids with me, to get to the stairway which was dark since the lights were not working. We arrived late and were only staying the one night if we had gotten there early I would have cancelled and stayed at the Super 8 across the street. Stay away from this hotel.
