“I Don't Understand...”
I came to this hotel with four friends, and we were all incredibly happy with our stay. I was concerned because of all the extremely poor reviews, so I wasn't expecting much. When we first checked in, the receptionist was rather friendly. She called us in the hotel room later to resolve an issue, and the entire ordeal went in a professional and polite manner. We resolved the issue within seconds because I brought my receipt with me. The room was quite spacious; we were all amazed when we first walked in that there was so much space. The kitchenette was well-furnished; we even had two toasters! Two of my friends immediately went out and bought things to make mixed drinks. We all joked that it must be a prostitution hotspot because the bathtub was in the bedroom surrounded by mirrors, but luckily none of us were hookers. :D There were two sinks, so we were all able to get tarted up in a reasonable manner (multiple bathrooms are a necessity for women). We were in the Orlando area to attend the Miyavi concert at Firestone Live, so the hotel was in a good enough area for us. The playground in the back was really cute and there was even an ice cream van driving around both days of our stay. Overall, we were really pleased with the room. Four of us fit in the bed, and the other slept on the couch, which really could have fit two or three of us as well. The kitchenette was quite nice, there was even a dishwasher. Their policies weren't ridiculous, but understandable.
“Pleasant”
It was a pleasant place for a short stay. I was not pleased with the surrounding neighborhood but security (camera's) was evident which helped ease my "dis-ease."
“Word to the wise”
I booked this because the rate was very low and it had a full kitchen so we could cook our own meals. I had read a couple of reviews of the trouble with checking in late so I made sure I called when it looked like I wouldn't make the 5pm check in. The 800 number transferred me to the office who didn't answer. I called the 800 number again and was assured that security is always there so late check in was fine. I arrived at 6pm to find the office locked and a note on the door with 2 numbers to call. This started a 2hr ordeal. The 800 number had no idea about the office closing at 5 or any way to contact them. The 2 numbers on the door did not answer or return calls. Ultimately Expedia came to the rescue and rebooked me elsewhere. I'm very glad because this hotel is in a very bad part of town and I would not have felt safe there (and I'm from NY!). There was no security and the police and ambulances passed by constantly during my ordeal. If you can't resist the low rates, just make sure you speak to the actual office, not just the 800 number. There is a lockbox there but you'll need to get a 6 digit code to get into it. The 800 number supervisor could only come up with a 4 digit number.
“"wonderful experience"....I miss it!”
The resort was very clean and a rather nice place. It has a kitchen so you can save alot of money by going to the supermarket and the stores are right near the resort,a 5 minute walk. There is apool which is clean,an onsite laundry room and a tennis court. The only concern is that the resort is in a ghetto area of florida, however im from new york so theres no place in the U.S. worse than N.Y when it comes to being ghetto. The reason I said the area is a cause for concern is because there are alot of drug addicts in the area but not in the resort. There are strip clubs which are 5 minutes away from the resort. The florida mall which is in an upscale area is only 10 minutes away from the resort. I loved my time there. no one bothered me at all. The only other problem is that the key takes a long time to open the door but you get what you pay for.
“Low cost for a reason”
This "resort" is basically a motor lodge with kitchen in a part of Orlando not shown in the brochure. If you need a cheap place to stay and do not mind driving everywhere (NO PLACE to WALK to from here), you may find the lodging adequate. Stale smoke smell in the room, but otherwise clean. Lots of mirrors if you like to see yourself... Also there is only an attendant for check in from 8:00 to 5:00, outside of those hours you better have a cel phone and hope they come to let you check in. I would say, that if you need a very low cost place to stay and you don't mind being isolated in a sketchy neighborhood, you may like Club Orlando. I prefer a location with more service and in a location that has places to walk to and enjoy.
“We cannot wait to go back! It was a great place to stay-close to Universal Studios.”
It was a great experience. I met a lot of great people. I was locked out and I woke up a staff member at 12midnight. He had also been so kind as to help me start my car the day before. Everyone was so helpful. I felt right at home.
“Excellent Stay!!!”
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was quiet. Not too far from Universal and surrounding theme parks. I stayed in the one bedroom condo. The bed was comfy, full kitchen, pull out sofa in living room, and 2 bathrooms. Loved the whirlpool tub, it was very relaxing after a long day at the parks. Very nice for such an affordable price! I will definitely book another stay.
“Can't wait to come back, best prices for a room like that, Where dreams come true”
Great place to stay and can't wait to come back
“What a DUMP!!!!”
I have never been in such a horrible place in my life! It was right off a street with 5 strip clubs, we felt like we were in the ghetto. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially if you have children. We didnt even feel comfortable here. We also didnt realize that these were apartments or long term rentals....Over all we felt very uncomfortable here, we ended up leaving days early and getting a different hotel. WE THINK IT SHOULD HAVE ZERO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Westgate's cool”
Was very good and especially for what was paid I was more than happy. The room itself was spacious and clean. With a king size matress and TV in the bedroom and livingroom it was nice. It also had 1 1/2 baths, a kitchen and 1 DVD player. There was a glass enclosed shower, which was nice and a hot tub. The linens on the bed were clean but, the extra ones in the closet had hair and what looked like armpit stains. Overall the hotel area was quiet and I felt secure and content with it.
