Quiet and calm during a busy and fun filled vacation. Clean, comfortable, friendly and knowledgable. Wonderful place to see the wildlife and to relax and unwind at any time of day.

Great place to stay in Disney World

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: The proximity to the park, the ambience, and the animals. The pool and water slide were wonderful.
Cons: The rooms could be a bit larger?
Location: Disney parks, miniature golf, water parks.
We took our grand kids for a 2 night stay. They loved having the animals so close by. Staying on a Disney property is so convenient. The room was small but adequate. Very little time is spent in the room itself. The restaurant offerings were convenient and child friendly.

Wonderful

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: The ambiance, the free cultural activities, the free night viewing of the animals and the peace and quiet.
Cons: The pool was small and boring especially compared to the lobby, hotel itself and the food.
Location: far away from Magic Kingdom but close to animal kingdom. Suggest a car rental if you want to move around quickly.
Rooms are small but the staff is excellency. Warm, professional, caring. The amenities are amazing, cultural activities for the children, romantic restaurants for adults, the free night viewing of the animals, the food...everything was all high quality. I would definitely recommend this hotel again.

All I could wish for

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Not much!
We had stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge once before, and I was underwhelmed. This trip, however was perfect. We were only there for one night, to attend Harambe Nights, so I asked if our room could be ready at noon. The people on the phone were not very reassuring, but when we arrived the room was not only ready, but spotlessly clean. The entire property was up to Disney standards, and the staff were (almost) all excellent.

Excellent hotel with a great setting atmosphere.

Really chilled out hotel with great staff. Waking up and seeing giraffes walk by your room is special especially in a safe environment. Rooms could do with being a bit bigger. Was up late one night and saw staff cleaning absolutely everywhere in the public areas.

Amazing atmospheric hotel

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Reintroduce pre-order room service breakfast. Fans at bus stop would be nice as it's hot! Nothing else, it's awesome!
Location: Location for Disney parks, great. 5 mins to Animal Kingdom, 20 max to anywhere else. Disney transportation is brilliant if you're not driving.
This is an amazing hotel and we've stayed there 3 times now. It's an oasis in amongst the whirl and excitement of the Disney parks. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. It's a stunning hotel reminiscent of safari lodges in Kenya but isn't made naff by the Disney status. Seeing animals outside your window in the morning still catches me even after 3 visits. The pool at Jambo House is a great area with plenty of shaded sun beds and more private cosy areas (I recommend the area around by the children's play area as it's slightly quiter and shaded if you want that) and a welcoming pool complete with slide for little ones. Yes it's expensive but I think you get what you pay for. Rooms are comfortable, beds just right (and I'm fussy!). Dual sink area is great, lovely toiletries every day. Mini fridge and pod coffee machine are also supplied plus a huge TV with plenty of channels. Rooms are 2 queen beds or bunks but default appears to be 2 queens (even if you request a bunk room as we did when we booked with Expedia we still were allocated a 2 queen room but if you ask at check in what room you've been given and it's not what you wanted, they are usually happy to change if possible.) Please remember they only know on the day what rooms they'll have so don't get upset, just ask! Requesting at booking is not a guarentee, it's just that, a wish list if you like so please don't get angry, they will accommodate you if you ask. Bus service is usually excellent. Highly recommended!
