AmazingPosted May 19, 2015
I booked a standard room so when I asked to be close to my daughter who had a awesome room they upgraded me . The room was amazing and the woman that helped me was amazing also. The whole experience was great from when I left my house and didn't see my bags until I was in my room until I left and picked my bags up at home . Thanks Jon

Lovely, atmospheric hotelPosted May 17, 2015
My wife and I recently stayed here when we got married at Disney. We chose this hotel for its unique atmosphere, and it didn't disappoint - the theming is stunning, and having the savannah right outside is wonderful. As with the Disney parks, there is a constant soundtrack of interesting music about the premises, plenty of activities for kids, and at night, it feels like a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. We had our wedding meal in Boma, and it was delicious. We found the cast members to be very helpful and courteous, apart from one attendant on the gate as you drive in, who was pretty rude. Also, I think we got a new cast member when we were checking in. She didn't give us our MagicBands at first - we had to ask for them. She also didn't tell us that if we wanted to settle the final bill in cash, we'd have to do so the night before we checked out. As a result, it was billed to my card, which I didn't want. So that's worth knowing. Other than those points, it was fabulous! A big part of the quality of our overall experience.

Fabulous start to our holiday!StaPosted May 14, 2015
Pros: Staff were so helpful.
Cons: Perhaps a restaurant / activity information sheet to accompany the hotel confirmation, so that guests can book prior to arrival.
Location: Disney - what more can I say! Theme parks, transportation, extra activities in the hotel, ie night safari with 'night vision goggles'
Impressive hotel with a reception area which takes your breath away with its African theme. You enter at ground level, but it is actually level 3 which is a bit confusing when trying to locate your room. Our room was very comfortable with a balcony overlooking an access area before the Savannah. We asked to be relocated to a room nearer the animals but as it was Mother's Day weekend, the hotel was full, and we couldn't book breakfast at Boma's either. The safari's at the hotel were fully booked as well, thus try to plan ahead and book things prior to arrival. This, however, did not spoil our enjoyment of the surroundings, and we ate breakfast in the Mara.

Excellent common areas and fantastic staffPosted May 12, 2015
The common areas are incredible, and the staff were so joyful and it just made your day every time they spoke, but for £260 a night I was expecting more from the rooms and the Savannah view, I have stayed at other Disney hotels and prefer them. But still an incredible hotel.

Great short family vacation:Posted May 9, 2015
Me and my family had to be in Orlando for a meeting and after that finished we stayed at the Animal Kingdom lodge for a short Disney vacation. It was a great experience. The hotel is beautiful, the surrounding amazing. We did not pay extra for a better room with animal views, so it was great when we opened our window and a Giraffe was eating in a near by tree. There are many activities for children. The restaurants are very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I would love to go back.

Construction workers looking in our windowPosted May 8, 2015
Pros: Ambiance, food at breakfast buffet.
Cons: wait staff
Location: It is close to the Animal Kingdom.
Overall was not very happy with our stay. The hotel has a nice ambiance, staff for the most part was friendly. The main issues I had i rented 2 rooms (one with 2 queen beds and the other with 1 king bed). I made the request when booking w expedia, called the hotel directly the day before to confirm this and on check in. I asked if possible that the rooms be close to each other or adjoining. They gave us adjoining rooms but instead of my room being a king bed they gave us a queen bed and next to it a bunk bed. Was not ideal to sleep my wife and i plus child but I kept the room and slept on bunk bed. More disturbing is BOTH of my standard rooms had a nice view of a scaffolding. On our 3rd and last day my teenage daughter in the other room came out of the shower to have a worker in a white jump suit on the scaffolding looking directly into her room!! I was hot to say the least and had we not been checking out that day I would have definitely requested another room or left. Aside from the noise that they would make from construction starting around 8:30am was upsetting. We ate the breakfast buffet at the hotel two of the mornings and was good. The first day we had a very friendly waiter. Our second day the waitress was very indifferent and was not rude but defintetly not friendly and had to be asked for several things. NO bell boy when we arrived for check in on the magical express bus .
