Rooms and facilitiesPosted Mar 3, 2014
Never would have booked this hotel had I known we would have needed an internal shuttle bus just to get from the front desk to our room. The rooms were clean but boring and dated. The food service (which you either walk to or have to take a shuttle to) was lousy. While the cold breakfast options were plentiful, the hot food was horrible. McDonalds scrambled eggs are better. These were so salty and the bacon so fatty that I threw it all out.

Get a way for two.Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: The rooms were clean. The grounds and pools were very nice. Great location.
Cons: Nothing. We loved it.
Location: Location is great. Close to Downtown Disney and all Disney theme parks.
This was a relaxing get a way from the kids and work for the two of us, so we spent a good bit of time at the resort just winding down. We loved the grounds which were beautiful and very well maintained. We took advantage of the cots on the beaches. The pools were great. The main pool had a pirate theme and water slides and the kids seemed to be very well entertained. There was a jogging trail around the entire resort so you could take it all in. The rooms were nice enough and very clean. There were places to eat on the resort, but we already had dining plans and never got around to trying the resort food.

Pros: Pool and mini beach in each hotel area...
Cons: Maybe a small sidewalk to walk to and from the cafe to our rooms..in the resort...
The only complain i have is that i would have to take the internal bus for everything...even for breakfast...i can not walk from the cafe to my hotel room.

Disappointment at Disney... not the best!Posted Feb 28, 2014
Pros: Staff at hotel was excellent and they assisted us with any issues that arose.
Cons: Needs to be redone - rooms are dated and not very clean.
Location: Location was fine, but not any better than staying offsite. Had to drive or take the bus wherever we went.
The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, however, after having to clean the bathtub drain ourselves at 10:30 at night in order to shower our three kids... I have to say I was disappointed. After complaining to the front desk, we were promised that housekeeping and maintenance would be in the next day to clean. We left the next morning around 9 am and housekeeping was next door. When we arrived at 3:30 pm, our room had not been touched! I was highly irritated, because within minutes of getting back with three sweaty kids, housekeeping showed up to clean. Needless to say I exchanged the towels and that was about as much help as we got with the tub. Was offered a different room, but since I knew the drain in this room was clean (thanks to us), I didn't want to switch. So they compensated us for one night's room rate. Staff was great, but hotel was old and poor upkeep. Needs to be overhauled.

Fun HotelPosted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: Our room was close to the resort amenities, the view was nice from our water view room. It was quiet. House keeping was great. smaller pool and beach
Cons: Food options. That seems consistent throughout the park itself. fast food doesn't offer much of a selections and restaurants are very expensive.
Location: We took a shuttle everywhere.
We had a vey nice time. Our room was close to the resort amenities, the view was nice from our water view room. It was quiet. House keeping was great. Very nice having a smaller pool close to the room and the mini beach right outside was great for mornings with a good book in a beach chair! The shuttle service was very close. And staff was friendly and helpful. It was relaxing and enjoyable. Fireworks were a nice touch.

A Disney HotelPosted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: The rooms, while pretty basic, were comfortable. Nice pool area. Good transportation access to everything in Walt Disney World.
Cons: The daily cleaning of the rooms was haphazard and missed lots of things. Not very impressive.
Location: Easily accessible to all the attractions in Walt Disney World.
Overall, this was a positive experience. A Disney property, it provided easy transportation access to everything in Walt Disney World, had basic rooms that were more than adequate, nice pool, and a surprisingly good restaurant.

Will not be my choice next time.Posted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Caribbean theme. Resort grounds.
Cons: Room condition. Bus service timing very inconsistent.
The resort itself really beautiful. Cute, fun theme. Food was good for what it was. Now, the rooms themselves, not so great. Four years ago we stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside, it was VERY clean, and well maintained. These rooms seemed very run down and dingy. Not worth what you are paying for it. We were upgraded to a Pirate themed room free of charge and though the kids thought it was cute, I would never have paid the asking price. It is mind blowing to me the prices Disney charges for these sub par rooms.
