Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
- At your hotel
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is nestled amid towering pine trees and native vegetation within the Walt Disney World® Resort, just two miles from Magic Kingdom® Park. Guests check in at the rustic Reception Outpost, which has a stone fireplace, wood-beamed ceiling, and rocking chairs. The large resort borders Bay Lake, and log cabins and paved campsites are situated throughout the woods, connected via a series of roads. The property is extensive enough that it offers its own on-site transportation system: along with bicycles, guests can rent motorized golf cart–like vehicles to get around the grounds.
In addition, complimentary transportation (via motorcoach and water launch) zips guests throughout the campgrounds and to all Walt Disney World® Theme Parks, water parks, and the Downtown Disney® area. Campsites are available with full (electric, water, and sewage) or partial hookups (electric and water). Air-conditioned comfort stations with restrooms and private showers are located near all campsites. There are also laundry facilities on site.
The resort offers lots of recreational activities. A white-sand beach on Bay Lake isn't far from the marina with boat rentals. Over at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch, a blacksmith prepares horses for the daily trail rides while kids enjoy the petting farm. Pony, hay wagon, and carriage rides are available. And located throughout the resort are fishing spots, tennis courts, jogging trails, two pools, a game arcade, and volleyball, shuffleboard, and tetherball courts. Several dining options include musical shows and meals with Disney Characters. Poolside dining is available in season, and a country store with camp-related groceries is on site.
