Convenient to Magic Kingdom

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Location in monorail line provided easy access to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. While the overall property has been well maintained and was recently renovated, the facilities are outdated and the pool is grossly undersized.

First Time

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Pros: Spacious, convenient to the Magic Kingdom, very clean, ceiling fan and A/C.
This was our first time staying on a Disney property and it was fantastic! The room was what I had booked and was extremely pleased that the room was ready for our early arrival. I will be booking here again.

Pros: The monorail, the pools and the beach are all very nice
Cons: Some of the rooms are still needing repairs. Air Conditioner went out for half of the day.
Location: Location is very good, near the Magic Kingdom.
We were not happy with the first room they placed us in because we looked out to a construction hole and very noisy. They moved us to the other end of the resort and it was just ok, they did not give us balcony the second time, and the refrigerator did not work along with the remote. So it was alot of calling and complaining, and when the finally straightened everything out, two days were used up from our five day visit. Maybe once the construction is complete, it will be better.

Continues to be under renovation

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: It's location and transportation options to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. The new pool area.
Cons: Finish the renovation and move the outdoor dining area away from the children's pool (very noisy).
Location: Directly across the lake from Magic Kingdom! You can take a wonderful boat ride across the lake to Magic Kingdom.
The Polynesian Village Hotel at Walt Disney World continues to be under renovation making parts of the hotel area messy, loud during the day and unusable. I was aware of the on-going renovation when I booked but surprised at how much it impacted our stay. There are multiple buildings to this hotel; and, accept for the main building, there were construction vehicles and workers, unattractively blocked off areas, noise and general disruption. On the other hand, the newly renovated main building (Ceremonial House) and main pool are fantastic! Unfortunately, the "other" pool is now closed until 2016 which makes the main pool very crowded at times. Of course, it is Disney and has direct access to the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and the other monorail hotels. The beach is now reopened and the Castle is visible from the main lobby. The staff was pleasant and worked very hard to correct the problems we had with our "Magic Bands" when first arriving. I would certainly recommend the hotel; but, be aware of the noise issues and general upheaval.

Great Location

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: The location was so perfect for us. Our room was very comfortable and quiet and we liked the Polynesian theme everywhere.
Cons: They were doing construction at parts of the resort so construction noise at times couldn't be avoided. The "cast" (employees) were helpful & friendly
Location: Just across the lake to Magic Kingdom. Saw fireworks from MK at 10 pm while still at the resort on their beach.
This Disney resort hotel is in the perfect location. We were able to go to Magic Kingdom on the boat or the monorail both of which are available right at the resort. Everything at the hotel coordinates with the Polynesian theme--in the rooms and all around the resort. They host the Aloha dinner theatre which was fantastic! The food was good and the show was great. It was also nice that they have Cap'n Cooks which was a kind of fast food place as well as two other restaurants. We dined at one of them twice--Kona's had good food (we never tried 'Ohana so cannot comment).

Beautiful Resort!

Posted May 5, 2015
We have stayed at the Polynesian numerous times, but this was our first time since all the remodeling of the rooms, lobby, and pool started. We were pleasantly surprised with how quiet and beautiful it was, even with some construction still going on. We absolutely loved having the monorail access, especially with our children ages 2 and 4. There were many activities at the hotel for our kids to do when we were not visiting a park. The day before we arrived, they had just completed the construction of the children's splash area. Our two kids loved it! They had also recently completed the lava pool area, which has zero depth entry and a large slide for older kids. Between the hours of 7-8pm, the hotel staff invites children to roast marshmallows on the beach. They will also show movies on the beach at 8:30pm. The beach was also great for viewing the water light parade on the lagoon and the fireworks over magic kingdom. We had a wonderful stay at the Polynesian, and we cannot wait to book our next trip there!

A lot if construction being done. So we had a bad view of the garden. Once construction is done it should be very nice.
