Birthday celebrationPosted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: The layout of hotel with garden squares, the attention to detail in the guest rooms, and the green gardens, and fountains, plus the horse carriage
Cons: Outdoor entertainment like in New Orleans, a single person playing a musical instrument. Beingnen street cart would be fun, too.
Location: Animal Kingdom Lodge worth seeing
Checked into hotel with ease, greeted by door man and any staff member that passed us. The armband was FABULOUS as keycard. Never again do I have to search the room for a key card. Arrived at room, then went on the river boat to Downtown Disney. That part was not up to Disney standards due to HEAVY construction only. Day two - rode the monorail to Grand Floridan Resort for dinner reservations at Narcossee. Dinner was excellent, and pricey. May check into Disney dining next time.

Nice quiet resortPosted Apr 14, 2014
We were choosing between French quarter or riverside and glad we choose French quarter.. Very relaxing. Bus system worked excellent and resort staff very friendly. Make sure you ask to set up Fast passes on your park visits.

Disney Family VacationPosted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: We enjoyed the conveniences of the rooms with the food court and transportation shutters. Also loved the pool areas and the restrooms there were very.
Cons: Bathroom in rooms were small but workable.
Location: Disney... We also went to Dave and Buster on our rain day and to the mall.
Great location for extended family vacation stay. A few bumps in the road with our pre-registration online process as to correct names in room and magic bands. Two people did not match and it took us to our last day to get someone who good find the problem to get it totally correct. I only share this as it took away from our fun time and in a place like Disney you don't want any unnecessary wasted time in lines. Advise make sure you start your registration process using everyone's given name and if you are booking multiple rooms put yourself in the first room when you begin listing the names staying in the rooms. This will help when you link everything together and be able to use all conveniences available to you. With all this said we are better prepared for our next type and will be back to stay here again.

Nice hotel but the food is ghastlyPosted Apr 5, 2014
Lovely hotel complex, close to all disney parks but a good 20 minutes from restaurants outside disney. Plus points are the pool, general vibe, staff friendliness and fantastic maintenance of all the facilities. Rooms are spacious though a bit dark. Main drawback is the restaurant/canteen which sells awful quality food, you simply can't get a healthy or semi healthy breakfast unless you are happy with a banana. Coffee is a lost cause, no espressos, cappuccinos or lattes ( though it's pretty much the same across all of disneyworld) and all that is on offer is watered down coffee.

Spring Break 2014Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: Cheaper than most Disney facilities.
Location: You can ride the boat into the Disney Marketplace or take the Disney bus system to the theme parks all of which are included in the price.
I'd rate the facilities on par with most 3-star or "C" level resorts although the price is closer to a 4-star. Likewise the on-premise eating facilities included cafeteria style food service (no full service restaurant) which was pricey. The room was clean and did not appear overly worn. In-room amenities included large screen TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, two queen beds and free WIFI. Port Orleans is kind of spread out and it can be a hike to get to the front unless you arrange in advance to be closer to the front/center.

Great for the pricePosted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Clean, smaller than a lot of the huge resorts. friendly staff.
Cons: The food pavillion was OK - not great. But is on par for the rest of the park.
Location: Fun to take the ferry to Downtown Disney. Pool is fantastic.!
Port Orleans French quarter is great for the price. French quarter is a smaller resort than Riverside so pretty easy to navigate. Bus times to the parks seemed to run a little slow probably due to spring break traffic. It is by no means as convienent as a hotel on the monorail but at a quarter of the price definitely worth it.
