Nice Disney hotel!

Posted Apr 17, 2015
We just returned from our 7 night stay at Port Orleans Riverside. Rom was clean and comfortable but small for a family of 5. The queen beds were very comfortable but the fold down bed for the 5th person has a very thin mattress and not so comfy. Our request from the housekeeper for an extra pillow for the 5th bed was ignored twice so we gave up. The grounds were beautiful and our kids loved the slide at the pool! Like most of Disney, the resort was spotless. Ate in the food court several times. Pricey. For example, a bagel, cinnamon roll and 2 yogurts (Oikos greek and Dannon kid's yogurt) cost $16. We lucked out with a room/building close to the main entrance and one of the bus stops (Building 14) so that was a plus as the resort is very large! Overall, it was a pleasant stay!

Lovely location for a quiet night

Stayed in the Alligator Bayou section. Our room was comfortable although not as clean as it should've been when we arrived. The guest services staff was lovely and very helpful.

Good value for the money and convenient.

Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: Price. Location. Staff.
Cons: More signs to the right buildings. More places to eat.
Location: Disney, Disney,Disney.
Very convenient, but I had trouble navigating the place. Long walks to anywhere but Disney places. Those buses were perfect and very well organized. Very good price though. Decor not my style, rustic, but clean and well kept. Staff beyond excellent, some one would always help me when I was lost or with any other question. I might stay there again.

Beautiful Hotel on the River

Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: Right on the river which made it so nice to walk around (great walking path). Spread out with several buildings with rooms made it feel less crowded.
Cons: Maybe a little more attention to cleaning/straightening the rooms. A few different times it appeared that the maid was in a rush.
Location: Close to Downtown Disney, Epcot and Magic Kingdom (by shuttle). A little further to Animal Kingdom, but it wasn't bad.
Beautiful grounds, easy access to the shuttle which took us to all of the theme parks. Loved taking the water taxi to French Quarter and to Downtown Disney. Staff was easily accessible and helpful. Nice pools. The main pool had activities/games in the afternoon for kids/families. Showed movies at night. A great place to relax in between visits to the theme parks.

Nice hotel with excellent service

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Clean room, helpful staff, good size room, frequent bus services that can take you anytime to disney parks.
The room was excellent. We were placed in the second floor. It was somehow difficult to bring the stroller to the second floor since there was no elevator. Overall, we had a great time there. The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful. Although, we were far away from the lobby, but there were many bus station stops close to where we stayed in.

Wonderful Disney resort!

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Our room was comfortable and very clean. We loved the riverboat theme of the resort. Since we stayed over Easter, they had many holiday activities.
Cons: The fast food area was overwhelming and confusing when we first arrived. It would have been nice to have a staff member explaining how things worked.
Location: The grounds are beautiful, so we never minded the walk. We enjoyed the main pool and the smaller pool. We loved bike rides, boat to downtown, fishing.
We loved everything about our stay at Port Orleans Riverside! The resort was magical in every way.

April Vacation

Posted Apr 12, 2015
I have never stayed with Disney before, I was quite pleased with the accommodations and really enjoyed getting shuttled for the week. This was our first outing with my daughter who has MS, I was kind of worried how things would work out she has trouble with balance and standing. We rented a scooter for the week to use at hotel and parks, we had no issues with transfers on bus. Some of the rides you need to transfer to a wheel chair which was no problem. My only suggestion would be for handicapped doors into the some of the rooms. Of course the food and drinks are a bit overpriced, I knew that would be the case after checking menus before arriving, for the most part the quality was good. I would recommended staying there.
