Pros: Location
The location couldn't be any closer to Universal Orlando. The hotel was excellent and the pool was great. The staff was very accommodating.

Had a nice stay except

Posted Jul 1, 2014
For not having washcloth or floor at our hand towels.and it took over a half hour to get washclothes. First we asked for creamer and washcloths from a house keeping person on the floor who had to put it in the system. When she brought creamer I reminded her and she said she would let someone know. I tried to call the care line which didn't seem to be hooked up, then I tried dialing 0 and that didn't work either. So I tried on the other phone and was finally able to get thru. It was still another 10 minutes before someone brought them. They could have told me where to get them myself and it would have been faster. So it was over a half hour waiting.

Linda is a superstar

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Cons: Bus transport/shuttle ......would be nice if last time back to hotel was extended to 9:00p.m. from the current 8:10p.m.
Location: entrance of Universal.......prime location.
My family booked 4 nights at the Double Tree to explore Universal. Check in began our love for this hotel. Linda was the most friendly, helpful, just all around outstanding hotel employee that I have ever encountered. She should be giving customer service seminars for the hotel chain nationwide........seriously people.......she is an asset.

NO TOWELS

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: everything except housekeeping
Cons: Housekeeping
Location: Location was excellent. Directly across from Universal, City Walk and Isle of Adventure. Within 10 minutes of Wet N Wild
Everything and everyone EXCEPT the housekeeping dept. was terrific. 5 out of 6 nights we had to call for towels. Not extra towels - towels. None were left in our room when they cleaned and made the beds. We even left notes asking for 4 towels for 4 adults. Their response was a written note on the back saying that they would be back later with towels - didn't happen. The manager was very apologetic and understanding. We had called so many nights in a row that he offered us the hotels breakfast buffet on our departing morning. Overall the hotel was clean - staff was polite, helpful and courteous. The pool was terrific. Hotel restaurant was great. Valet was great. Housekeeping failed miserably.

The Double Tree at entrance to Universal

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: Clean, well kept, the staff was excellent & very pleasant, we were able to leave our bags with the valet after check out till our trip to the airport.
Cons: Put the kids groups on one floor where they will only bother each other. It seemed they had no adult supervision which was not the hotel's fault.
Location: The hotel seemed to be centrally located to most of the amusement parks, especially Universal. They provided transportation to most of the parks.
The hotel was nice, clean, & the staff very pleasant. They had a Starbucks in the lobby, all types of cafe's & eateries in the hotel. There were a variety of other places as well to choose from to eat or shop. The grounds were beautiful & well kept. They provided a well lit place for smoker's either out front away from the door, or out by the pool area.

Nice hotel for universal park.

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Location: Universal studios is 15 to 25 minute walk. TGIFridays is across the street.
My husband found this hotel for my daughter and I to stay at while going to Universal for a couple days. We stayed 4 nights. The reason we picked this hotel is that it was walking distance to park. It is a 15 to 25 minute walk, depending on your speed. There is also a universal kiosk in the hotel that offers shuttle service and sells tickets to the park. We had a nice stay at doubletree. We were able to get in 2 days at the pool, which is a good size and has many lounge chairs. We found the room to be well stocked and clean every day. There was also many nice lounging areas around the hotel inside and out for eating or playing cards . We found the restaurants on site were convenient since we didn't have a car and the food was good at all of them. The staff was very helpful with all of our questions and very accommodating to our schedule. We would definitely stay there again.

I had the most awful stay at this hotel.

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: It was where the event was being held. They gave us a free breakfast.
Cons: Their personnel, their hotel policies and they need to renovate the hotel, the carpet was stained and ripped, the bathroom was old with cracked tile.
Location: I had planned to go to Universal Studios after the event, but when they said I would have to move rooms again. I decided to just go home early. :(
When I arrived I went to the front desk and they gave me the key to my room. When I got to the room the key wouldn't work. I thought well maybe this room is on the other tower so I went to the other tower and the numbers were different. All along I was carrying a suitcase and and rolling a cooler. I went back to the front desk and told them the key wouldn't work for the room. They said let us see the keys. The did something on their computer and then swiped the keys and said for me to go back and try it again. I went back to the room again and the key still wouldn't work. As I continued to try the other key some lady came to the door and and gave me a dirty look like I was trying to break into her room. This was very embarrassing and humiliating. I went back to the front desk and told them the room was occupied and they said it wasn't. They acted like I was lying to them. I told them that a lady came to the door and they still said that the room was supposed to be vacant. After heckling with the front desk clerk and getting a manager involved I finally got a key to another room. I drove 10 hours there and arrived at 8:30pm it was 10:45pm before I finally got into a room. I was to attend a conference there so I decided to come down early to rest before the conference began. My fiance reseved the rooms for the event. I asked if we could stay in the same room and they said we had to move another room. I wanted to stay an extra day and this was the case again. This place sucked.
