Grand Beach as our first choice when in Orlando.

Posted Mar 27, 2015
Pros: We like the location, the amenities, the room. The people at the desk tried their best to help us out when we needed it.
When we went to check in we were told there was no room for us for the first night. We were sent to The Spanish Cove. Very poor substitution. We were given that night free of charge. The desk told us they had sent us e-mail to advise us. No e-mail from Grand Beach in my folder. Grand Beach had the wrong e-mail address, the e-mail address was no where near my correct address ??? Our daughter was over 8 months pregnant and my mother is over 100 years old. We needed a phone to keep in touch daily. The room phone was not working and it took 3 days to get it fixed. When it was fixed there was so much noise on the line we had a very hard time making out what was said on the phone. The desk did let us use their phone but it was awkward and we only used it once. We will still use Grand Beach as our first choice but felt we should be honest about our stay.

Great hotel with lots of activities

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: Big beds, comfy pillows, beautiful veranda, two pools, hammocks.
Cons: Less people making noise in the garden with leaf blowers!
Location: Right near Disney and a 10-30 min car ride to Universal depending on traffic. Not far from restaurants, Outlet Mall and grocery stores, but need a car
We loved all the amenities and activities at Grand Beach. We stayed 3 nights and could have spent all week there without even going to Universal or Wet N Wild, which are not too far away. This hotel is near a lake and has lots of trees and landscaping so it's good for people who want a break from the touristy, hectic side of Orlando. Rooms are super comfortable, with great beds and sufficient kitchen equipment. The only flaw with booking this hotel is they phone you a lot to try to get you to go to a condo presentation - which is fine if you want a $100 visa card - but we didn't want to spend 90 minutes indoors with all the things to do outside - swimming, tennis, basketball, ping pong and a great mini golf set up - no extra fees.

Great Hotel

We stayed in a 2 room suite, it was huge! It had 3 rooms, 2 with king beds and one room with 2 twin sized beds. They do charge $10 ish a day to use their amenities which is a waste of money because we had multi Park passes in the area that were planned for everyday we were in town. Other than that, Great Hotel! I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice Resort with all the amenities!

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: Pools, Basketball, the Lake, mini golf, the hammocks and beach and the size of the rooms.
Cons: Less pressure to go to a sales pitch.
Location: Lots of attraction near by and the beautiful beaches and lots of restaurants.
We have stayed here a couple times and they are doing renovations which is due. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. There were some ants in our room but not to bad considering they spray all the time and bugs are plentiful in Florida. The size of the rooms and comfort makes it a nice stay with everything you would have in a home. The timeshare calls and pressure get old but just don't return there calls unless you want to go to presentation and be pressured to buy a timeshare. It's close to all the parks and the wildlife around they area are a plus for walkers. we really enjoy our time here and they are upgrading rooms now so it should be even nicer the next time we go. A great spot for families.

So close to everything and yet so secluded

Awesome winter getaway close to all the attractions. Spent 4 of our 8 days just hanging at the resort, plenty to do and so relaxing. It would be a great place for a family reunion.

Great hotel close to Disney

Posted Jan 27, 2015
We were upgraded from a 2 bedroom to a 3 bedroom which was spacious for our family of 5. They also let us have early check in at 10 am. The room and facilities were fabulous. We did go to a time share talk but got $125.00 Visa credit to use at the parks. They also entertained the kids while we were there and they were happy to have some down time. Conveniently located close to the parks, but no shuttle so you do need your own car. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this condo to anyone.

Great value for the money

Pros: Clean, safe, well-kept. Nice view onto Lake Bryan from grounds and units facing that way.
Cons: As a swimmer, I'd love to see more hotels offer a lap pool, but neither of their pools was set up that way.
Location: Close to DisneyWorld, outlet malls, SeaWorld, etc.
I was using Grand Beach as a place to sleep while I attended a nearby conference, so I did not have a chance to partake in any of their onsite amenities/activities. I did think the pools, mini golf, kids' playground, and waterfront area looked nice, and everything was well-kept. The deal I got as an air-hotel-car package from Expedia was excellent, and this was no cut-rate hotel. The room was a suite with a full (small) kitchen, living room area, and separate bedroom. The bathroom was fairly large and had a Jacuzzi tub-shower combo. The nitpick-y things I'd mention would be the comfort of the living room sofa (it's a sofa bed, but really uncomfortable as a sofa; never unfolded it to see the bed), the difficulty getting heating/AC right, and the distance from outside restaurants with no restaurant on site. The resort did offer me a time share meeting with promises of great savings for attending, but I declined, and it was a non-issue. Not pushy at all. For my purposes, it worked well. I think it would also be a great home base for visiting Orlando destinations, as long as you were prepared to do a bit of driving. Also, please keep in mind that daily housekeeping is not provided. (I think they service the rooms once or twice a week during longer stays.)
