Another Great Stay at Grand Cypress

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Pros: The quality of the hotel, the pool area, the entire staff and the proximity to the parks and Downtown Disney are all huge positives of this hotel.
Cons: Please let people know of pending renovations to the hotel would be the only recommendation. This is two years in a row they were doing something.
Location: Extremely close to Downtown Disney. To avoid traffice getting onto I-4, there is a backway into Magic Kingdom area
Wonderful facilities and feel like being at a Disney resort without the high price. Would rather stay at Grand Cypress than most of Disney anyway. Convenient to Downtown Disney and only 12-15 minutes from the theme parks in the area. Staff could not be any nicer and are always willing to lend a hand. We continue to come back year after year because of the comfort, the hospitality, the proximity to everything and the overall great deal that Hyatt Grand Cypress provides. The absolutely incredible pool area allows the kids to unwind in the evening and the movies on the large screen with the snacks was just the touch we were looking for with our last visit. You will not be disappointed with this hotel....guaranteed. Tell Merlot that we said hello next time you visit!

Pros: So much tp do we didnt have to leave the hotel if you don't want to
Cons: maybe 2 chairs at the small table
Location: Disney, Universal
Excellent, but there is some work being done on the hotel a bit noisy at times, but they moved our room and waived the resort fee. They will be doing work on the lobby for a few weeks.

Very poor customer service and experience

Posted Sep 6, 2014
We booked our reservation three months in advance and we're not notified the the hotel that they would be doing renovation during our stay. The staff were rude and also charge a 375 dollar authorization for incidentals that do not include room charges which they charge your credit at the time of purchase. Room was dirty at time of check in including beer bottles and hair on the pillows although they did eventually rectify that situation and make it up to us but the follow through was poor I spoke to management of poor interaction with the front desk and rude attitude he never followed up after promising to contact me within a couple days. The shuttle bus from Disney dropped us off at the wrong entrance which was closed because of renovation and forced a group of exhausted parents to walk around the entire resort in order to get back to our rooms.

Lovely hotel

Pros: The staff were very helpful, location was extremely central and the fact you didn't have to go out of the resort to be entertained was great.
Cons: The rooms were fine but not nearly as impressive as the rest of the hotel. Also quite pricey in the foyer coffee shop.
Location: Location very central. 2 mins from the I4 so you could really go anywhere quite quickly. Downtown Disney and Vineland Ave Outlets 5 minutes away.
Hotel was just lovely and had everything we needed as a family. The rooms are quite standard, 2 double beds, nice bathroom but we had the best view over the lake and were able to watch the fireworks at Disney from the small balcony. The hotel facilities are great, superb pools with water slide and waterfalls at one side and on the other is the beach area leading to the lake. So much to do the kids were never bored, climbing walls, bikes, canoes...... You do pay a daily charge but it was well worth it if you use them. The parking fee was a bit expensive so make sure to add that onto your price.
