Safe, Kid-friendly hotel

Posted Apr 25, 2015
I stayed here with my three children as my husband could not join us. I felt very safe and my kids were entertained our entire stay. Pool was great and their were plenty of games set up around the pool and activities throughout the day. Excellent staff!

The property was beautiful, well appointed, there were lots of options for food/entertainment. The staff was always professional, attentive and very kind. The décor and design was gorgeous.

Very nice hotel and great location.

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: The surroundings, the pool, the breakfast, the building.
Cons: The rooms and the facilities inside the room.
Location: Great location. Easy to move around, close to many attractions.
The room wasn't big enough for the 4 of us so the stay was very uncomfortable. The beds were extremely high to the point that we had to asked for a stair that blocked the hall. There weren't enough drawers nor enough hangers to leave the towels and clothes. The rooms were cleaned really late... At about 12-1pm.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff (except housekeeping) was extremely attentive and friendly. However, we left our room at 10:00am two days in a row and it was not cleaned. The first day we came back to the room around 4:00pm and called to get the room cleaned. They finally cleaned it that day. The next day we were gone all day and returned that evening and the room was not cleaned again. That was unacceptable two days in a row! If you leave your room after 8:30am your room will not be cleaned.

EPIC Resort & Pool

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: The Executive Suite, the Pool area
Cons: Extra "hidden fees" Daily resort fee, parking fee, internet fee, gratuity automatically added to each bill even though the service was way below par.
We stayed in an executive suite on the 24th floor overlooking the pool. This was an awesome room. We stayed over the Easter weekend, so the hotel was quite full. As such the service was very slow.

Hmmm. Should have been better

Pros: Quality of bed and bathroom facilities- excellent The lazy river for the kids
Cons: Room service Marriott rewards service/support
Location: Close to everything but you need a car.
Asked for a third day and had too book through Expedia, rather than the front desk. The room service food was below expectations. Inquired why none of my Marriott stays garnered points and I was told I can't book my stays through Expedia. Yet none of my extra costs qualified for points either. NONE of the hotel staff could help. They gave me a central number which I called from the room and then got charged over $20 for a recording. I asked for tickets for Universal and was told it would cost $10 per person to print the tickets. I walked over to the copy center in the hotel and paid $4 for all 3 of us. The lazy river was excellent. The breakfast with service was amazing. The 3rd day Expedia package included breakfast for 2 and it was worth it. I loved the hotel and freshness but so many hidden and extra costs undermined the relaxation portion of the stay. That is, it was hard to keep track of what was extra- resort fees, parking, taxes, etc and what was included. The best term would be "petty". It did not MAKE me want to come back. I would try another resort before I would go back.

If you are an adult and want a quiet tranquil pool

Posted Apr 1, 2015
Go to the spa and pay the $30 day rate and enjoy a relaxing quiet day. This resort is pricey, aside from the room rate.
