Wish I stayed all day and skipped Disney.Posted Apr 15, 2014
Antithesis of the Disney people trap. Relaxed and friendly. Outstanding food. Great pool. Staff was super accommodating.

4 star hotel at 2 star costPosted Apr 13, 2014
This place is one of those hidden secrets that probably won't be in another year. The owner is extremely good to the staff (i.e. free college for their children if they stay 3 years and for themselves if they stay 5) and it shows in how the staff reacts to the guests. I met about half a dozen different employees in my three day stay and every last one of them went out of their way to give me special help; and even refused tips. VIP status meant something here (unlike some places I've been) and I ended up with as good a view as the highest priced room. The location is excellent; it seems to have something for all ages and interests, and the outstanding security gives a feeling of safety without feeling intrusive.

Excellent staff- just beware the location and taxiPosted Apr 13, 2014
Situated on a beautiful golf course- although far away from anything walkable - such ad the convention Ctr. The taxi service charges a premium and more than once a driver refused to take us for a short fare- to pointe Orlando or the convention center. The other time the taxi tried charging $20 to go 2.7 miles to Normans - and then lowered the fare when I asked for the office number to confirm! Overall, though - the hotel itself was great.

Pros: Room was very clean, the housekeepers were friendly, valet was always prompt, the scenery was very nice.
Cons: Communication, just have the lovely ladies at the front desk explain everything.
Location: Downtown disney is like 10 min aways, very very close to universal studios and the outlet mall
Well, let me just say this is our third time visiting Rosen Shingle. Me and my husband went to celebrate our 1st year marriage anniversary. When we arrived we were greeted by a young lady who checked us in. She asked if we wanted to leave a card on file for incidentals and we said no. Then she asked if we had a car on property and said yes, she goes on to say well you will need a card on file and you will ONLY be charged for the overnight valet parking. FINE! The next morning I woke to see $75 pending from Rosen Shingle on my bnk acct so I was ok that may be for the valet. Then later that same day, I check the account to see $202 was pending in addition to $75. I was livid. I called the front desk of course they didn't know so i spoke with a manager so said that we shouldn't be charged and advised that we were going to be charged $50 per person per night!!! What!!! I was never told that at check in and nor she did she advise of this prepaid option at the time of check in. It was crazy. They resolved the issue with the bank on Tuesday & said they removed our card off file. Upon check out another associate "accidentally" charged us another $63 to the card, (the card was suppose to be removed that Sunday) *sighs everything got reversed and we were charged the appropriate amount on Wednesday. All in all, I love the location and hotel but this whole taking money without our permission or explaining it will most defiantly make us stay away! Just ask about the incidental policy!

Larger than lifePosted Apr 4, 2014
If you like things big, this resort is for you. The hotel caters for conferences and conventions, as well as golf. The staff were excellent and helpful. Special thanks to Kathleen on reception for sorting out our check in problem and the staff in the Osceola Cafe.We especially liked the shop on site that catered for all those things you might need.

Nicer than I expected. Hotel is very largePosted Apr 1, 2014
Great options for dining and convenient store for anything you forgot to bring with you. The staff was wonderful. If you are staying here for a convention or are on a tight schedule, give yourself ample time to get your car from Valet. It is a large hotel and sometimes the valet can take some extra time. I had to wait an excessive period of time for my car- as soon as I spoke with a manager about it - they comped my charges- but I was late for my convention because of it. overall staff was very friendly and accommodating. would stay here again.
