“Well worth the money”

Our room was in the tower, where we got a free upgrade. Large, clean, well appointed room. Large bathroom with jacuzzi tub. Loved the vintage feel to this hotel. We checked in early at no extra charge. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. We ate dinner and breakfast in the Giraffe Cafe and it was very good and reasonable. We used a coupon found in the room in a brochure for a free dinner.The Disney transportation was convenient going to The Magic Kingdom but coming back had to go to the Animal Park for pick up on the way back and it was a lot longer. Later we took a taxi back but it cost us over $21. All in all, we very much liked the hotel and would return.

“It it wasn't for the slow elevator and confused food service staff I would give it a 5”

Couldn't have been happier with our room...Natasha checked us in and went above and beyond to make our simple 1 night stary wonderful. Didn't have to wait to check in or check out- front desk staff is wonderful! Now, only 2 elevators for 17 floors and one of them was broken when we returned back at 1 am from attending a concert..not a problem...however, the next morning when I was trying to get coffee- had to press the up button just to get that 1 elevator to stop. The quick food service area had NO coffee ready at 9 am on a Saturday- and then the 1 man running the front area had too much to do so more waiting. Beautiful room with a pretty view. Comfortable bed, clean and well maintained. Roman jet tub was just what I needed to round out a great stay. Usually stay elsewhere when on Disney property- but will be staying here again!!

Perfect for any Disney area stay. We didn't use the shuttles- great weather for walking to House of Blues.

“Pretty Good Hotel - Great Location”

PROS: Great Location, super-close to Disney's parks and Downtown Disney. Great view and the room size was very big. Nice and quiet. Service in the Giraffe Cafe was great. CONS: Could've been cleaner and it was a bit outdated. Bathroom floors didn't appear to be cleaned daily. Prices for food/snacks were more expensive than they were in the parks. There was a $10 charge for daily parking and the parking gate was finicky at best. Front Desk service was sub-par. I would stay here again, if they were running a special.

“Great Disney Deal!”

We have stayed at the Royal Plaza several times and it remains a great deal for visiting the Disney Parks. The people at guest check-in could not have been more helpful in resolving a mistake I made on a prepaid reservation. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. We ate a couple of meals in the restaurant and the food was very good. This is definitely our go-to place when traveling to Disney or Universal.

“Nice Resort, Spacious Rooms, Great Location”

The Hotel location is great, very close to downtown disney and an easy shuttle ride to all disney resorts. The rooms are very spacious and the upgraded bathrooms are a very nice extra. The only negative was that the tv was outdated and the remote barely worked. Overall though we enjoyed our stay and would stay again and recommend friends.

“Good hotel older but clean and well kept bathroom was amazing would stay again”

Only stayed for one night so I cannot coment about housekeeping follow up, but the room was very clean and everything worked beds where comfortable, I travelled with two teenagers and there where still enough towels! The bath in our tower room was huge and marvelous after the parks, We didn't try the pool ( we are Floridians and it was November ) The only negative thing- valet parking slow disorganized even in the middle of the day- don't bother. I was charged twice but the front desk corrected it as soon as I found the mistake, which is all I ask. Paying for parking in hotels by the parks is now pretty much the norm, to the point I am surprised when it doesn't happen. We ate lunch in the coffee bar, good food reasonable prices, very pleasant staff. Room service was good efficient and not overpriced. Front desk where helpful and pleasant and appologetic for the mistake with parking. Location very good Downtown Disney a 15 min stroll a 5 min fast walk (it started to rain) Transportation to the parks is by bus which was regular or you could walk to downtown disney and get a disney bus. Over all I would stay again and I would give this hotel a 4.5 the extra point five is for the bathroom,

Area recommendations
Depends why you go all of the parks are worth a visit you will need a day to do each one. They are all tiring and all expensive but all a lot of fun drink plenty of water and don't forget sunscreen
When to go
If you can, avoid Florida in the summer, its hot which means the parks can be very tiring. You do need a car if you are planning on doing anything outside of the theme parks. Do not forget sunscreen even in winter and drink plenty of water.

“Great Location OK Hotel”

Check in was prompt, friendly & easy. 2 things surprised me A) A sign stating that if you are using a debit card that they will pull an undisclosed amount of money from your account for up to 30 days after you check out. Being on a budget I was sure to give them my credit card at check in to avoid this complication. B) We were informed that parking would cost $10 per night stayed. I didn't see this on the Expedia website when I booked. The parking was convenient but we didn't really feel we had a choice but to pay the fee. The room was OK. Seemed old. There was a little mold/mildew on the shower curtain which grossed me out. But the beds looked new and there was plenty of bedding. Our remote didn't work well and the air conditioner didn't work when we arrived. They had it fixed very promptly. The second night when we returned to our room after a day at Epcot our air conditioner was screaming like a banshee. Maintenance came quickly but said it couldn't be fixed until morning. I wasn't willing to risk the sound happening at 3am so we demanded another room or to be reimbursed for the night and we would go home early. They said they were full, but then they found us another room. After we moved they called to see if we were happy with the new room. The new room was not an upgrade, but it was cleaner. No mildew on the shower curtain & the TV worked properly. I highly recommend asking for another room if the first room you receive isn't what you expect.

Dining
We took our own drinks into Disney. It is permitted. Then we found cafe type eating places in Epcot and shared bigger meals. Since we didn't need drinks we saved a lot of money. The meals were filling and we paid about the same as we pay for our whole family to eat at Panera. Remember on weekends at Steak and Shake kids eat FREE!! And my kids think the shakes are such a treat! There is a Steak and Shake not too far from Disney. Another place we saved a lot of money was Little Ceasar's Pizza. It was a bit farther from Disney but worth it because we fed our family of 5 for less than $20.
