A sandy beach borders the resort's 64-acre lake, and fishing, paddle boat, and jet skiing rentals are available. Other outdoor activities include miniature golf (surcharge), sand volleyball, tennis, shuffleboard, basketball, and horseshoes. Guests enjoy four outdoor splash pools, a children's interactive water park, and two playgrounds. The fitness center has two treadmills, a universal machine, and a stationary bike. The activity center offers activities for children and adults, including face painting, wine socials, and basketball games; fees may apply.

Within five miles of the resort, Falcon's Fire Golf Club has an 18-hole, par 72 course designed by Rees Jones, a driving range, golf school, clubhouse, and pro shop.

“Perfect Place For The Family!”

This was our 5th year of going back to Summer Bay Resort. It is perfect for families with kids of all ages. The two bedroom lux. rooms are like apartments. There is a kitchen with washer and dryer, dinning room that will seat 6 people. Two bed rooms with two bathrooms. A living room with a full couch and two chairs, big screen tv. Patio set outside on the balcony.There is several swimming pools, water park, mini golf, tennis courts, playground and a lake with blow ups for the kids to play on. They do activities everyday, for all ages. The magic show is Awesome! Movies by the pool every Wednesday night with free popcorn. They have live bands and dualing pianos. GREAT bartenders that know how to make a drink or whip up some great food. The price is just right ($7.99 for cheeseburger & fries, kids meals $5.99) or $6.50 for Crown and Coke. We tell everyone about this place and we will return next year! Grocery store, Target, Wal-Mart, Papa John's, Olive Garden, Lonestar Steak House all close by. We love Summer Bay's!

“Watch for Bed Bugs”

We were very happy initially with Summer Bay. Had a 1 BD condo with tile floors, leather couches, clean kitchen, etc. However, around the 3rd night my husband and I started to get bites while sleeping in the bed. We thought at first it was mosquitos, but never heard any buzzing. Each night we would get more bites. I eventually slept on the couch the last 2 nights. Told the front desk as we checked out to check the bed. They didn't seem surprised by this info.. It's too bad, because we did enjoy the complex, and thought that all of the poolside activities for the kids was great. But I can't risk bringing those critters back to CA. We had to literally wash every single thing we had when we got home and spray our suitcases. So far...no new bites, so hopefully we left them in FL!

When to go

Recommend traveling to Florida in mid-to-late fall or winter. Even late April it was in the 90s.

“Very comfortable”

“Can't wait to go back”

This resort was awesome. The rooms were very clean, the pools were fantastic, the staff was great. I was unsure about the resort because sometimes when you see things online, they don't appear the same when you get there, but this place was even better. This will be our place to stay every time we visit Disney. The only complaint I have was that they did call our room 3 times about timeshare options. We said we were not at all interested in a timeshare and after 3 times they quit calling. This place was also very kid friendly, we have a 6 and 5 year old, both boys and they had a fantastic time.

“No cribs you have to rent one.”

This is a family oriented hotel and they do not provide you with cribs for infants. They gave you a number to a company that would rent you a crib. They dropped it off at the front desk in a box at which you had to transport it and set it up. Then upon leaving you had to deliver back to the front desk exactly how you found it. I can not believe that they would not furnish cribs. Absolutely ridculous.

“will stay again!!”

the resort is very nice. unfortunately we booked the room that has the big jacuzzi tub like the pictures showed and when we got to our room it was just a regular sized jetted tub and they wouldn't change our room because we were only staying one night. however once we went down to the pool. it was great! live music and my son whose 2 loved the fountains in the pool. i would definitely stay there again. next time for a few days to do more at resort. No need to go to the theme park. nice and relaxing time just staying there on site. especially since I have two small children (infant and 2)

“Great resort and great for families”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Summer Bay Resort. Our 2 BR condo ws very nice. The resort has multiple pools nd most are heated and this was nice as the temps. were a bit on the cool side when we were there. They offer multiple activities for kids each day nd the "balloon guy" is a must see if you can make it. He was great. We heard that he also does a magic show but we were unable to see that. If the price is right, we will stay there again.

“Great amenities for kids”

This resort was a great place to stay if you have kids. There are so many amenities for the kids around the resort, as well as for adults too. The location is excellent also. It's about 20 mintues from SeaWorld, 15 minutes from Disney. The only complaint I have about our room is that they must've waxed the tile floors in the living room/kitchen area with something because we almost slipped and fell about 4 times while staying in our room. The tiles were very slippery with a wax or polish that they must use and it made me nervous with my kids running around. I did mention it to the resort so they could be aware that it's not safe on the floors. It makes the floors way too slippery! Overall, the place was a wonderful place, we loved the bar & grill by the pool. I would recommend anyone to stay there, especially if you have young children.
