Across the street from a beautiful park

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: quiet comfortable convenient
Restful - in a quiet neighborhood. Hotel has a mini on demand spa. Staff helpful and pleasant Panera restaurant on ground floor and several restaurants in easy walking distance.

Excellent location, very clean, rooms small

Posted Sep 15, 2014
PROS: The location of this hotel is great. Right accross the street from Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando. Walking distance from the lake, and many downtown locations. This is not a normal boxy hotel but a converted old building with an interesting style and few rooms. Large balconies, a jacuzzi, and an in-house spa are some of the amanities. Also, there is a Panera's restaurant right in the same building with great food and excellent prices - very convenient. The rooms and all common areas in this hotel are very clean and the staff is very friendly. There are also some nice common areas on each floor. CONS: Most of the rooms in this hotel are very small. You can barely walk around the bed. No microwave, no fridge, no desk, one chair. The bathrooms are also very small with a tiny sink, toilet and a shower. The shower is nice though, but is sprays water all over the floor because it is not properly separated from the rest of the bathroom. I would come back to this hotel and would recommend it to others because of the cleanliness, the location and the fact that it is so different. Get the room with the king-size bed, if you can. It is larger than the tiny queen-size bed rooms

July 13 - 18 visit

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: The peace and quiet.
Cons: A small fridge would be nice for longer stays.
Location: Nice lake and park across the street. Plenty of dining and shopping options within a few minutes walk.
Surprisingly quiet and relaxing. Great bed. Nice linen and towels. Balcony was definitely a plus. No fridge or microwave, yet there are plenty of dining options within a short walking distance. Nice neighborhood. Friendly people all around.

ROOMS ARE SMALL

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: the charm of it
Cons: the rooms do need updating
Location: Shopping nearby and close to public transportation.
booked this for my son and his friend. The rooms are very small but adequate. There is a hot tub open until 10 PM and there is the spa. They forgot to clean my son's room and that was very disappointing considering the prices they charge. This hotel sits atop a Panera Bread, so breakfast is convenient. This is the old charming downtown Orlando in the Thorton shopping district right near Lake Eola.If you are claustrophobic I would not recommend this place.

Great Value for the location

Posted Jun 30, 2014 on Hotels.com
Was greated warmly every time I passed the front desk. Sure, it is a little thing, but so many hotels miss this. Excellent value for the price and location. Other options were limited. * Parking is extremely limited, but there was always 1 spot open for me. * The park across the street is busy - with homeless * Saw a someone digging in the rubbish bin (dumpster); * room had a bed, wood chair, 2 nightstands and Armoire * Armoire has fold-out counter top. * Plenty of bedding and pillows * room was on the busy road side - no view, however. * Lots of street noise to me (suburban liver) - glad I had earplugs * A/C was noisy - but able to keep up with humidity. * bed was extremely soft - I fell into it and had to roll out; * bathroom is small, sink is small, counter space is small * toilet seat does not stay up - uneven floor * No safe * towels were not _soft_ - but not scratchy either * TV HDMI input works - connected a PC to catch up on shows * City Bus stop is just outside * WiFI worked good (multiple APs in the hotel), but during a thunderstorm, the internet connection to the ISP was flakey and dropped a few times. Orlando * didn't realize it was so very flat (bring a bicycle) * toll roads suck * Great restaurants nearby just a few blocks away - try Dexters! * Great restaurants elsewhere too.

Close to downtown orlando, FL

very comfortable rooms. Always very clean. We always stay here when we visit Orlando. It is a spa hotel, so it always smell really good. The downside is wish there was a coffee maker in every room. The Double Queens have a kitchenette. Good thing is there is a Panera Bread downstairs of the hotel.
