Nice but dated

Posted Apr 13, 2015
The hotel is a little dated and starting to look shabby. It also lacks some amenities that I think should come standard with a resort, ie breakfast. Not a bad location though, easy walking distance to a great choice of restaurants and shops. Shuttle to parks is also good.

Convention weekend

Pros: Beautiful grounds, comfortable beds, hot water, lots of pillows on the bed. first floor rooms have sliding glass doors that you can open
Cons: No refrigerators in our room, not enough staff during peak hours to help
Location: Several restaurants in the area, UNO Pizzeria, Longhorn, Red Robin, McDonalds, Perkins
It was clean and aesthetically appealing. We arrived early and pre registered and told we would be called when our room was ready. We were called and returned to the hotel to check in. There was only one agent working and a line of 3 people waiting to check in all at check in time. Finally another agent arrived and he checked us in. He provided with us room keys and a map and sent us on our ways. The property is spread out and has 12 smaller building that wrap around the property encircling the pool. The grounds are beautiful. Once we got to our room, there was a mix up and we were assigned a room that either had not been clean. So back to the front we went. The next agent (the one who had helped us was not there) who helped us informed us that there was a mistake and that was our room, that the items in the room were ours! I was shocked and proceeded to tell her that was impossible since we had not been on property since 8 am and everything was in the car. We got a new room and then given bad directions once again to where our room was located. Our checkin process took close to 2 hrs. We were given breakfast credits but the details were not fully explained and we had a hard time using them. After discussing our displeasure , the amenity fees were credited back. There just did not seem to be enough staff around to help at the busy times. There are plenty of cabs out front. Several restaurants nearby and convenient to I4 & Universal.

Not enough help

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Pool, fitness center; breakfast and concierge, polite/friendly manager
Cons: The hotel was under-staffed
Location: There were several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The airport transportation made it accessible without having to rent a car.
The room was up to date and clean. The central air conditioning had been replaced with a stand alone unit and was quite noisy even when it was turned off. The staff was polite and the manager was friendly. There was always a line in the lobby so that it could take 10 minutes to ask a question because it wasn't possible to call the front desk. The concierge service was good, but I was not introduced to that desk until the last day of my stay. The pool was heated and spacious. The other guests were polite and welcoming. The restaurant/bar,Gatorville, had two servers and one bartender. It made me feel guilty to place an order. I require a gluten-free diet, and there were not many gluten-free options. Uno's Pizzeria was within walking distance and had a wonderful gluten- free menu. Honestly, it seemed to me that the hotel was under-staffed. My next stay is at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista, and I am hoping these problems have been resolved.

Stay AWAY from this Hotel!!

Pros: Location to Universal Studios
Cons: DO NOT OVER BOOK YOUR ROOMS
Location: very active area. Lots of stuff to do
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. Took my family to Universal studios on 4/7/15 and we got done with the park around 10:30pm and headed back to the hotel very tired from walking around all day. Upon arriving at the hotel we were informed they had over booked and had no rooms left. the receptionist told me she could put us in a conference room with a sofa bed. I was furious, and baffled. I had paid for my room through expedia ahead of time. They had my money already. After arguing this point for more than an hour i was finally given another room that "came available". Once entering this room it was clear someone had just walked in and made the bed and called it "clean". There was hair in the beds. The floor and walls were filthy. And to top it off the toilet was broke, it did not flush. They promised to move us to another room the next day. After waiting till noon to get moved we finally decided to go to universal again and just wait for a phone call with the new room number. This call never came. When we arrived back at the hotel around 11 there were over 50 people waiting in the lobby. They claimed "computer issues" this time. After nearly 2 hours i recieved my new room key and was dissappointed to find that they had not given me anything that they had promised. other than clean sheets. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT book this hotel.
