Kids friendly, clean, good pool, helpful staff. I would go back.
Disappointing out-dated roomsPosted Apr 6, 2014
Pros: The pool
Cons: The rooms-brighten the walls, get rid of the 70's mini bar, add a bar sink with microwave & fridge, add lights that have 2 outlets on TOP, etc.
Location: Everything is far away..except the mall where we ate and got sick.
When we walked into the beautiful lobby we were expecting great things, plus we had just stayed in a great hotel the night before that was modern. When we walked into our room, I felt like we had stepped back into the 70's. The room was dark, some updates had been down but the basic layout was outdated. The sink was in the bathroom, there was no bar sink, there was a mini bar with outdated, overpriced "snacks", there weren't enough outlets for phones, tablets, etc. The list goes on and on. It really is the little things that make up a hotel. On the plus side, the pool was beautiful but the "slide" was rough at the connecting points and only open until 5pm. The grounds were beautiful. And we had to pay at $20 resort fee for stuff that people obviously never used like the tennis or golf because the staff didn't seem to know how to get us these things and it was just an unnecessary add on. The bottomline is when I am paying $200 a night, I was a beautiful hotel suite and that is not what we got. I won't mention the dust on the ice bucket, the bug in the coffee cup, the towels 10 feet from the shower, etc. It's the little things that make a stay great and this did not have it. I would not go back even though the view was beautiful, there are plenty of other hotels that have that, too. Also, add a docking station for Iphone/Ipods.

Nice Hotel, great view of the mountainPosted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: View of the mountain, pool facility & close to activities
Cons: $20 room fee for Wifi (not very reliable), 2 bottles of water on day one and an hour at the driving range 4 miles away + $19 buffet breakfast.
Location: Old Tucson and wildlife museum are a must see. Great local restaurants off site. Highly recommend renting a car.
Weather was great. We enjoyed the relaxation and sun. I was able to play golf at the country club twice. The layout is nice and the cost was reasonable.

Nice grounds, old room, toilet would not flush.Posted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: The grounds were nice.
Cons: Communication from the clerk when checking in.. IE: directions to our room would have been nice.
Disappointed with our check in, we were not provided details about the resort. It was difficult to find parking due to the conferences going on. Our toilet didn't flush and kept running. Be aware of the MISC. fee, ask about what you get for it, we got different answers on what it covers.

Short stay in TucsonPosted Mar 22, 2014
Pros: Room was very nice, but TV sucked. Reception and choices, not the TV itself. Fewer Republicans than in Phoenix.
Cons: Direct TV isn't worth it. No channel guide and movies are expensive.
Location: Mountains are close and plenty to see in Oro Valley.
Very relaxing, although the golf practice facility and both 18 hole courses are off-site. High end restaurant could use a better thought-out menu. Pools are really nice, and fairly quiet.

Spring break with the kidsPosted Mar 19, 2014
I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you have kids unless it's for 4th July or Memorial Day weekend. It was pretty dead over Spring Break and the kids were bored. The pool had one person working at the bar so the service was slow and not exactly luxury. She wasn't even pretending to be happy to be there. The restaurants were pretty good. We had breakfast and dinner there. I would recommend breakfast but go out for dinner. I just think that they could jazz it up a bit when you spend that much money.

Warm staff and accomodationsPosted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: Excellent price, great location, great facilities, and especially the staff
Cons: More room service options and parking at the casitas was inconvenient.
Location: Great location, northeast of Tucson, views were great, near to golf areas and malls.
People on staff were very helpful and friendly. I liked how the restaurant, maids, and front desk people were considerate, caring, and helpful.

surprisingly noisy rooms for a mere $20/day resortPosted Feb 12, 2014
Location: golf, golf and golf. Oh ya, eating!
The first surprise was the mandatory resort fee of $20/day plus tax. Supposedly this gives you the "extra amenities" of free WiFi, and use of stuff one would not need (driving range, one hour of tennis daily, etc) The rooms were clean, but noisy. We especially enjoyed listening to the folks pee and flush in the rooms above and next to us. The light shone brightly thru the four sides of the door, and we could listen to the conversations as people walked by in the hall. The coffee maker didn't and the hair dryer didn't either. The facility is beautiful and convenient to northern Tucson area activities. Parking is difficult, especially when busy. Typically a 5-8 min walk to room.

Fantastic and Friendly!Posted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: Great setting, fantastic staff
Location: Hotel is pretty far north, but still only about a 30 min drive to downtown Tucson and the Gem show. Childrens museum rocked!
We just spent a week at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Hotel. The entire family went along as my husband was there on business. The hotel exceeded our expectations. Okay, it could use a little face lift (i.e. the paint in the bathroom) however, that was just the smallest point. We were so happy with the way we were taken care of. The staff could not have been nicer....EVERYONE.....from the front desk, to the restaurants, to the pool stafff. We were thrilled. We would definitely stay there again.

GREAT SERVICE. SPECTACULAR VIEW!Posted Jan 13, 2014
Pros: Epazote restaurant, location, housekeeping was fast.
Location: La Encantada mall is 15 minutes away.
We have been there a few times and we love it. This time was my birthday weekend. We received a complementary upgrade for our room. We had a suite and the place was spotless. We loved our beds, the pillows and the robes felt really soft. Every staff members had a small and were very attentive. Housekeeping was fast and efficient. We left for breakfast and when we came back, our room was completely done. Loved it. We had dinner at Epazote restaurant and the January featured menu was delicious. I had the lamb skews and butternut squash soup and both dishes were absolutely delicious. My husband had the oxtail and it was really good too. We tried Sundance Cafe for breakfast and I loved that they served buffet up until 1pm, so no rush in waking up early. The buffet was ok. It had fruit, oatmeal, yoghurt, scrambled eggs, specialty eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, bread pudding and pastries to name a few. Overall, it was a great weekend vacay.
