We loved staying here. The room was spacious and the kitchen adequate for cooking simple meals.
The staff were charming and helpful and it was easy to park our car at a reasonable charge and walk everywhere.
The owner is very friendly and supervises everything so there is a high standard of service. Breakfast on the terrace was delightful with home made baked goods and freshly squeezed orange juice. A fantastic place to stay when visiting Syracuse and very well located in the heart of the old city.

Wonderful B&B perfectly located on Ortygia (Siracusa). The B&B is in a beautiful old building right on the Piazza Archimedes, though our room was protected from any noise on the piazza by facing a quiet side street. The host was welcoming and helpful with recommendations for restaurants and itinerary. The room was well air-conditioned and comfortable. Breakfast was good and served in a cheerful, sunny room overlooking the Piazza.

Super service from the friendly, helpful, staff throughout our 5 night stay . Clean modern facilities and excellent cold buffet breakfast included ( cold meats and cheeses , pastries and bread , cereal, fresh fruit , coffee, tea and juice ) .
Perfect central location on Ortigia island for all attractions in Syracuse . Walls between rooms quite thin and internal noise does travel - but not unduly disturbing ( we had a quiet back of hotel 1st floor room looking onto a courtyard ). All in all would recommend as good value for its 3 star rating.

"Beautiful hotel with a stupendous view of the sea."
We stayed at this hotel for three nights. It is on the island of Ortygia and we had requested a room with a sea view. They were not able to give us a room with a double bed; however, this turned out to be no problem at all since the beds were easily pushed together. The view of the sea was incredible. We kept the door to the balcony open all night to feel the cool breeze and hear the comforting sound of the sea. One morning we watched the sun rise on the horizon; evenings gave us a gorgeous display of the moon and stars. We had a rental car and, although finding a parking place was not always easy, we were helped by attendants who always managed to find us a space just outside the hotel. Breakfast (included with the room) was excellent with much variety, including scrambled eggs, prosciutto and cheeses, yogurt, cereals, fruit, as well as the more typical "continent breakfast" items of breads, croissants and pastries.

All the positive comments that others have made are true. This was one of the best hotels - it is a hotel rather than a B&B - that we have ever stayed in. The location was superb: central, of historic interest, with a lot of life in the evening. The hotel fully deserves its high rating
If we were to return to Ortigia we would be very disappointed if we could not get a room here.

Ordinarily I would have rated the hotel at about 4 because there was no minibar in the room. However, Giovanni, the proprietor, allows you to use the kitchen and the refrigerator. Thus, you have all of the comforts of being at your home. The hotel is located right in the center of Ortygia on an upscale shopping street. You are within easy walking distance of everything you will want to see on the island. If you are arriving at the train or bus station, there is a city bus that serves the island about every half hour. If you miss the bus or can't find the stop, it is only about a 15 minute walk to the hotel. What will make your stay here special is the fact that Giovanni is a most gracious host. He has a remarkable grasp of the history of Siracusa, and will basically serve as your personal tour advisor should you desire.

"Excellent location near all Ortigia has to offer"
Superb location and v helpful and friendly staff. Our room overlooking the bay with nice balcony was worth the extra money. There is no bar and you have to use adjacent facilities. Good choice of mainly cold food buffet breakfast but omelettes and bacon also available. The staff were so helpful in sorting out parking near the hotel which can be difficult.

Initially we were put off by the website photos of the bedrooms. This was a mistake, the room we had (217) exceeded our expectations. It was nicely decorated, was of a good size, had lots of storage, 2 large windows and a good size bathroom with a shower/ jacuzzi bath and bidet. The air conditioning was a little below parr but did keep the room at a comfortable level. The hotel is beautifully restored, smells so clean everywhere, has a wonderful view over the harbour from the roof terrace. The breakfast is excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times.
It is true (previous review) there are some works taking place to accommodate cruise ships, we believe, but is far enough away not to be too intrusive. There are lots of good places to eat within easy walking distance that you are really spoilt for choice.
