Really liked the outdoor pool area (just wish it got deeper) and was glad it wasnt packed. Felt like we couldn't really swim long though first night since there was a concert with pay entry? Stayed in pool until closing 2nd night but disappointng that you are only able to swim from 4 to close since the next day cant swim since pool doesnt open until checkout at 11? No microwaves is a big issue. You know its a touristy area and all we are given is a wine cooler and no microwave is crazy. Also was trying to search online for any info on hotel restaurants but couldnt find anything except the super expensive place. Didnt get any info in room either. Indoor pool is such a big area and great pool but is NOT being taken care of. Water is freezing but mostly because of the peeling paint and dirty look. Workers at desk were also super nice and overall plesent stay but tough competition in the area and so close to being a lot better.

Don’t waste your time & money
Just don’t do it. Done waste your money. This property was a huge letdown, especially for the cost. We definitely expected much a nicer than what we got. Rooms were NOT clean, carpet was nasty, stained and sticky as well as a tripping hazard bc of all the bumps in it. The room smelled Musty/moldy, dirty mirrors/windows, hair in the shower, stains on the sheet and 1 towel. Very loud as we could hear our neighbors loud and clear. The whole property was worn Down, out dated and felt almost abandoned. Super creepy vibes will def spend my money elsewhere

Would never recommend!
Our room was nasty so we called front desk and they moved us to another room but it was even dirtier than the first. These rooms aren’t cheap and it wasn’t little things it was so many that it was unacceptable and their customer service or lack there of was just as disappointing.

Rented a Suite... The suite was actually not bad despite the age of the hotel i would recommend it. Only issue was the pool area bartender was very rude when ordering drinks slammed the card down prior to that told us they were closing but continued to serve customers after us.. Second day we were pretty sure we were served alcoholic beverages that didnt contain alcohol lol! Despite that i tipped well which i always do coming from a service industry background..hotels worth a stay just beware of pool drinks lol

We've been going for the past 3 years. The first year we loved it so so much, the 2nd year started getting disappointed but we still love the place! But this year, it's sad how this beautiful place has gone down. Fountain not working anymore, no more stage nor guests every weekend on a summer season (Though I heard a storm took it down and management couldn't get it fixed since all mechanics are fully booked), the pool loungers aren't that cleaned, lots of tables and chairs at the pool area are broken same as the chairs and table outside our room. It's sad, but we will still go as long as it's still worth it. We still recommend this to our friends.

The indoor pool was a disappointment. It was freezing and the hot tub was NOT working. We were disappointed. We also met others who had the same disappointment. Saturday we stayed and enjoyed the Hotel. We had the Sweet Brew cafe for breakfast. I enjoyed sweet iced coffee while my Husband got black coffee. I had amazing avocado toast and he had the sausage breakfast croissant. We visited with a local while waiting and he was very nice and informative about the place and local attractions. Around 11 we hit up the Hippocampus Pool. This was a lot of fun. We relaxed, swam, drank, ate, mingled .. a lot of fun out there. The bartenders were very busy but they were both very pleasant and friendly. We met new faces and talked the afternoon away. There were visitors and some locals- all very friendly. We left the pool around 5pm. Took a cat nap then called Royal Fine dining for supper. They weren’t busy and told us to come on down. They got us fixed up with good drinks and good food. We had steak (very good) and lobster scampi noodles. Food was so good. Debbie and Susan were there. Debbie was amazing, very friendly and very informative about the place. We also met Jamie, a bartender and she was so much fun. The awesome Saturday made up for our cold indoor pool and hot tub disappointment on our initial night. Our room was nice, big, clean. The shower is huge. No microwave in the room but was told by an employee we can go to the front desk and they have one

The property is really clean and well maintained and is relatively newer construction. It’s really very nice and the staff is well trained and friendly. I will say the decor is over the top and someone needs to calm down with the number of tile choices in a given space, but other than that, it’s fine.

Got a last minute reservation on 4th of July weekend. I guess the hotel is at capacity. They are out of washcloths. Very nice outdoor pool with swim up bar.

The room was absolutely clean and nicely renovated. The building including windows and doors were clearly left as the originals and barely worked..my friends sliding screen door did not work at all for the patio. The building felt and looked like they put lipstick on a pig and wanted to create this high end hotel without the amenities and unfinished projects. The indoor pool did not work, not sure on the hot tub or even if the indoor was open at all. The coffee shop was a huge disappointment. There was no lattes or such like they had listed on their menu due them getting a new machine..and hooking it up during morning business hours on a sat morning, along with the corkboard wall dividing me and the really young staff working the coffee shop. All the staff in the hotel and the pool were friendly for sure but it just seemed like a low end budget hotel for an extremely high price. When I pay $250 for a room I want a great room, cleanliness, good service, and all the amenities a high end hotel should have. So Im rating this hotel as a 6/10

Generally an okay experience. The junior suite bathroom however needed a door that will close, a toilet fixture that is securely mounted and a towel rack that is not about ready to fall off the wall. It's an older facility that has been updated and is generally in decent shape. The staff at the Brew Cafe and the Front Desk were very pleasant and helpful. We would stay there again due to its location and reasonable rates, but we'd certainly do a quick check of the room/suite before we unpacked to make sure everything was good to go.

The room was amazing! We booked a jr suite for a girls weekend and it was perfect! The pool was awesome. Tried out Royal Dining on night one. They had to waitstaff total, including the bartender. Food was luke warm at best and not great. Drinks were good, that was it.

Room was nice and clean, hotel Is a little “dated” but overall nice. The biggest dislikes were the smell of Marijuana in every hallway in which the hotels response was “we can’t control what people do” I have stayed here several times but this trip will be the last, if they don’t care about customers being involuntarily exposed to Marijuana smoke then we will not be returning.

Hotel was clean and felt recently renovated. But restaurants were not open, parking was weird. And bed was very uncomfortable. May have enjoyed the hotel more if the outdoor pool was open, but it was early spring in Missouri, so that isn't favorable.

Well it is unique! Very nice rooms, a restaurant no one uses, Amber was very polite, helped me with early check in. It’s a great place you have to go see for yourself

since it was off season, it appeared that no one else was around . . . and that things were sterile, but indifferent. The bedskirt on the bed was torn, the coffeemaker in the room was almost impossible to operate, the internet access was nonexistent . . . We had hoped to find morning coffee on site, beyond the inoperable coffeemaker. No luck. The view of the lake was in the far distance . . . Overall we would not recommend this place again.
