The hotel is very conveniently located. The staff was friendly and made sure everything i needed was taken care of. The room was comfortable and clean. This is a really good choice when traveling to this area.

The reservation was made within minutes of your arrival, we reached out asking you when you were expected to arrive but received no response. There was no one there at the time of your arrival, but, you were provided you with check-in instructions. We are a small family-owned motel and it is the middle of winter. We do not have someone at the front desk 24-7. I'm sorry this wasn't up to your standards. We were very kind to you on the phone.

Stayed here before for fishing, property is dated, but clean, as long as its clean and quite thats all I care about. a little tricky to get a boat rig parked, but can be done. The young lady at the front office was friendly and helpful.

Within the first 5 minutes we left and didn't even stay there ... the room was so musty and moldy, we had a reaction and had to get out of there. Old, dated & stinky.

This is a family owned motel that is 50 years old. We have never had a complaint about mold or musty smell since we have purchased it, we keep the ac on 75 in the summers and keep damp rid in the lower units to keep away moisture. I kindly allowed you to checkin at 2:30 you got here at 2:23 and were in the room for 20mins you then came back at 9:05 and left 20mins later. The bed had been opened up and sat on, toilet and sink used towels etc. I personally cleaned the room before you checked in, there were no signs of mold or musty smell. The pictures on the site clearly show this is a an older motel. Your room had a brand new bed spread, wall hangings, towels, shower curtain, etc. I’m sorry this wasn’t up to your standards. We offered to put you in an upper unit when you texted but you said you already made other plans.

Your review is under anonymous so I am unable to look up the background to speak appropriately to. I will say we do have a 48hr cancellation policy that is clearly stated in our policies. We always call guests if they don’t show to see what is going on prior to charging their card. If we don’t reach them after multiple attempts we do charge one nights stay as per our policies. I am assuming the 3 charge attempts were attempting to run the card for the one night stay and the card wasn’t going through. Again, we try calling multiple times before attempting to run the card as we understand emergencies happen.

IT IS A ZERO STAR PLACE. DO NOT STAY
This was the wist place i stated in my intire life. No maid service and no towels or maid service in the 3 days .the office was locked alk 3 days .they didnt answer the phone and didnt care about nothing about you. Would be a dangerous place to stay without anybody on site for all the days i was there.spiders everywere. I killed the biggest black spider i haver ever seen in my life. The place is very run down . It does not eaven deserve a 1 star it reall should be a zero star. It needs alot of repairs and is very unclean. Very bad place to Stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you can see by our other reviews this is not an accurate reflection of our motel. We take pride in the cleanliness of our rooms. Our property backs up to the state park and is surrounded by woods so it’s inevitable there will be spiders and bugs. We spray for bugs/spiders constantly. There was someone at the front desk every day if your stay & we have proof via our security cameras. We do not advertise daily housekeeping and have that posted in the room. It also states where to get more toiletries and amenities. When you called us drunk yelling at us about not making your bed we let you know someone was at the lobby to go get more towels we saw on the cameras you didn’t go up there and your housekeeping sign was never out on your door. This is a family owned small motel not a five star hotel. We are sorry your stay wasn’t what you were expecting.

The room was clean and comfy and overall the hotel was great for its price. However maybe wait to start working (remodeling) on the office until later in the morning when people are sleeping right above where your working.

Wow, just wow!
The good... Typical little lake motel. Older, but not dilapidated. Room was clean and comfy. The bad... Check-in was weird to say the least. No one was actually maning the front desk. We arrived right before check-in time and the lobby was locked. There were no notices on how to check-in on the doors. Got back online and pulled up website to get phone number. Owner answered and told me she was not there and wouldn't be coming to check us in? Said it was off season and couldn't pay anyone to man the front desk...Uhhhhh, then why even advertise that you are taking guests??? Told her I made a reservation thru hotels.com and she said just give her my credit card number and she would right it down! Right...like I'm stupid enough to do that. Then she told me she could pull all my info off off the hotel.com website. My wife was concerned about the entire situation being legitimate. She asked where the owner was located and what we would do if we required anything during our stay. The owner snapped back that we were more than welcome to find some other accommodations to stay at. New years eve at 4 in the afternoon... The wife was pissed and asked how we were supposed to get a key to get in the room. The owner said there were electronic deadbolts on the doors. We looked at each other and decided we didn't have much choice. I told her to go ahead and process the payment. She gave us the code for the door and we couldn't get the electronic deadbolt to latch after we finally got in.

Hi Rick, Thank you for the accurate review about our motel and the room. As for the other.. I am not sure how much nicer I could have been to you guys. I told you I completely understood if you wanted to go elsewhere as I wanted to make sure you felt comfortable. Our town is a ghost town during the winter months, I'm sure you could see driving around. There were several Motel/Hotels with occupancy. I can assure you none were at the rate of the $60 that you paid, which is why I am assuming you didn't go elsewhere. We have several regular customers that stay here weekly whom which have their own codes to their own rooms which is why we stay open. I am sorry you were uncomfortable with no one being at the front desk. You were the only guest that evening and there wasn't a need for anyone to be there. I will be sure to make other guests aware of this prior to check-in I do apologize for not doing that for you guys. I will also say there is a large laminated note on the front door of the lobby that has direction to call me with my number on it. I see on the camera it was on there when you were, sorry if you missed that. As for the deadbolt not latching, it would have been nice to receive a call so we could have walked you through how to lock it. When I went to clean the next day everything was working properly. Fine for one night stay
When we arrived about 6pm, the office was locked. There was a phone number to call. The woman who answered verified my reservation, told me my assigned room, and gave me the code and instructions to access the room. The room was basic and very clean. The bed and shower were very comfortable. Only bars of soap were available- no shampoo or conditioner.

Bring your own coffee and filters. Cups, sugar, creamer, and coffee makers are available for your use in the lobby. Swimmimg pool will be nice when they get it open. Nice new owners. I wish them the best. I have already reserved a room for Ozark Bikefest 2022.

Typical for a motel this age ( 1960’s decor). The biggest problem we had was the carpet. When the carpet was last cleaned it wasn’t properly rinsed which left surfactant. We were not able to walk barefoot and if we didn’t want filthy socks we needed footwear so it was very inconvenient. The area around the ice machine needs thorough washing as the urine odor was prevalent. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. It appears the new owners are overwhelmed and the motel is definitely understaffed. We won’t be back.

Hotel was what I expected. The room was clean but dated. Pillows were terrible. Floor was very dirty. Would turn sock black. Very good location with go carts and mini golf next store. It was a place to stay if you are not picky. Could be a decent hotel if a little work was put into it.

Nice budget-friendly place
This place pleasantly surprised me. It is pretty old, but it was well-kept and the rooms were very clean. The new owners just took over and were working on fixing the place up our entire stay. Check-in was friendly, and it was quiet even when fully booked. Great inexpensive place to stay withing driving distance of so many places.

In general the room was clean but the outside was dirty and the entire location was very dated. The hotel I understand was recently sold and the lobby was in shambles. The coffee in the lobby wasn't very good and no coffee makers in the room. The pool was not open and still covered up. Big disappointment on such a warm weekend.

Thank you for the feedback. We just closed on the property we thank each customer that walks in for their patience during our transition period. This is a terrible time for pollen right now we blow off the parking lot as much as we can when cars leave but, it's inevitable with the season to have it spotless. Most hotels around here do not open their pools until memorial day weekend as the weather in the midwest is very unpredictable it snowed the week prior to your stay. Again, we appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again in the future!

Great location, clean room and great service!
Fantastic location, next mini golf and the State Park with a beach, trails, and boat rentals. The service was outstanding and room was clean and comfortable, so we felt it was a good value for the money. A few maintenance items should be handled soon such as the lose, tilting toilet seat, slow sink drain and caulking around the base trim of the bathroom.

Weekend at Scottish Inns, Osage Beach
It was a nice place to stay if all you want is a place to lay your head and to shower. The bed was soft and cushy, but bring your own pillows if you need more than one. It is older but well kept and clean.There was a mini fridge, TV and blow dryer. It was surprisingly quiet (and we were on the lower level). Family run business and they were very friendly and helpful. It is easy access to Hwy 54. Pet friendly was a plus. Definitely nothing fancy. I would stay there again.

Very nice folks at the Scottish Inn. A very nice lady called me Friday evening to make sure I was coming. I haven't had a motel or hotel give me that type of service ever. Very reasonable and had zero issues.

Let me start off by clarifying that this place is NOT the Ritz Carlton. And that is perfectly fine by me. This is a great No Frills hidden gem. Its a Ma & Pa type run property. It was extremely quiet day and night which was awesome. The rooms were IMPECCABLY clean. The mattress wasnt great, but not bad. It was just a place to crash for 2 nights, and shower. It had an overabundance of clean towels in the room. I couldnt have been happier with my stay, Would recommend, and would stay there again.
