The hotel is right off the Nankai line Sakai stop. So it’s very convenient connection, particularly for those flying to or from Kansas airport. The brew buffet was terrific. Staff was helpful and cheery. This hotel is getting a bit aged and there are some signs it may be due for a refresh. But the room was incredibly spacious especially for Japanese standards. Bathroom was great. Lovely view of the harbor. Would stay here again!

We stayed in 3 hotels on our Japan trip, of which this was the most expensive hoping it was the best condition for a 4 star rating. But it was the total opposite...the furniture has stains, the carpet has stains, the bathroom shower is moldy. It just made me feel disgusted when I'm already tired from a full day's of site-seeing. The hotel is way outdated, so stop trying to cover it up with the fancy classical music. The paid breakfast is the only this I'll give a plus for. It was decent but serving of the same food everyday is a little boring.

The shower did not drain, causing ankle deep water in the bathroom all night. The carpet and furniture were covered in stains. All the amenities were outdated. Breakfast was disappointing. The warm food was cold and the cold food was warm. The coffee was not refilled the whole time we were eating and there was no hot water. This was on par with 2 star hotels.

My visit to Sakai
I spent 10 nights in the hotel..staff were very helpful at all times..Room was cleaned twice a day..Hotel is comfortable, very clean with lots of options for dinning..it is also very close to a big train station with direct access to Kansai airport..a shopping Mall nearby and a supermarket as well.

Checking in was a bit of a pain since our room was not ready when we arrived even though it was well after the check in time. We also struggled finding the executive lounge which ended up being relocated and closed. The room was clean qnd breakfast was good.

Normally when I ask the front desk for a courtesy late check-out on a day that they have plenty of invartory, its NEVER a problem. But they wanted 1000yen per hour. I needed 2 extra hours but passed on the pay-2-stay late check out.

My stay at the hotel it’s ok but my point about the pool and gum why we have to pay money to used, Strange for me everywhere around the world you never pay money to use the. Pool on gum, I was in Dubai last year and I stay in hotel and I used the pool as much as I can for free If I know it from the beginning I’am not going to stay there but the room it was good and the price fair

Not bad, but not fantastic.
Overall it was satisfactory. However I found a few hairs on the desk near the TV, and there was unflushed piece of toilet paper in the toilet. The bathtub didn’t seem suitable for filling it up with water and having a soak. The beds were comfortable and clean however and there were enough clean towels and amenities. I would liked to have some coffee too, but there wasn’t any.

After being told that check-in wasn't until 3pm, we were suddenly called back to the front desk and given access to our room an hour early. Big thumbs up. Take care of you are interested in using the swimming pool and/or gym. The fees are rediculously high and not included unless you are on the executive level.

I wanted to visit Sakai-shi a long time ago until this trip. The hotel is in an excellent location, just 5 minute to the train station which will take one to the heart of Osaka in 15 minutes. It has a gorgeous view of the surrounding. Staff and food at the Executive Lounge are excellent. Sakai-shi is the home town of Sen no Rikyu and Yosano Akiko. A museum was built for them next to the birthplace of Rikyu. One can easily spend an afternoon there. Will visit and stay again. Good job!

People in the reception are very friendly, Housekeeping people are very polite. Except that was a little incident happened during morning buffet breakfast. when i walked up to the self-served coffee machine only few mins after the buffet line was closed, and there was a man stopped me and said it closed at 10am, then he turned off the machine right after he said that. I feel pissed because I really don't understand how difficult it is to let me pour my cup before he turning it off, especially the machine was still running when i walked up there! Zero customer service!
