The hotel is just walking distance to the train station. The front desk people are very helpful and pleasant. The hotel room is clean.

This hotel was very nice and I belive a good value for the money. Very quite and comfortable.

“Small but good”

Small rooms, but very nice. A bit hard to figure out air conditioning etc.. since nothing in English. Excellent breakfast buffet. Beds a bit hard, and no bar in hotel, only beer machine (like coke machine). I would stay there again.

“Monterey Osaka Awesome Location”

Montery Osaka is conveniently located 5 minutes away from JR Osaka station. There are hundreds of restaurants near by.

“Hotel Monterey is excellent”

Great hotel. Staff was friendly, excellent English, very helpful and accommodating. Not a great area for nightl;ife, but close to main station, so convenient for travellers. Rooms are small, but not overly so. Highly recommended. Great value.

“Great stop off hotel”

We needed a good hotel to stay at close to the JR rail station. This was perfect! It was clean, easy to find and charming. There's a full-size church on the 8th floor - crazy? The room was clean, the beds were comfy and everything was pretty easy overall. Thumbs up!

“A great place to stay in Central Osaka”

The building is architecturally significant (at least compared with most modern hotels in Japan) and it retains old charm inside, while being also impeccably modernized. The service is extremely high quality even by Japanese standards. The location 5 minutes walk from the all-important Umeda (Osaka) railway and subway terminal and the surrounding restaurants and shopping makes it real value for money. The only drawback is that rooms are really small - but it is hard to expect more room size given the location. The Japanese restaurant in the hotel was also very good quality. There is also a French restaurant but we didn't try it. Overall very highly recommended.

“Fantastic hotel!”

Very cute and a nice surprise in the middle of bustling Osaka. Clean, charming, and quite large for a 2-double bed room in Japan. The hotel is in a quieter area of the city and a brisk 5-minute walk from the JR Osaka station. Staff spoke English and were very helpful as well. Loved our stay!
