No fresh air!Posted Jan 7, 2014
Cons: Air-conditioning!!!!! Or at least a window that opens.
Location: Location is great
Japan in winter is cold - not that cold though, days fo around 8-10C. So the fact that the windows in the rooms don't open, and there is no fresh air into the rooms apart from a heat-only AC system means it's almost impossible to breathe in the room as it's so incredibly hot and stuffy. I was in a single room and despeite the staff bringing an air 'purifier' I couldn't stand being in the room. They moved me to a double (same price) and was a little better but mainly because of the room being larger, no better air quality or fresh air provision.

convienence locationPosted Jan 2, 2014
It locates on the top building of ShinSaiBashi metro station, and has easy assess connecting to other stations. This hotel is also surrounding by department stores, and shopping streets. Also lots of sightseeing spots are nearby, and all verity of foods can be found from aside restaurants and bistro. Hotel staffs can provide English communication well. I would like to stay this hotel again while next visit to Osaka.

Nice hotel near Osaka shopping area shinsaibashi.Posted Dec 22, 2013
Pros: It's quite nice and located at a convenient area where you can easily access to subway and shopping.
This hotel is very convenient to everything. For example the most famous shopping area of shinsaibashi is right across the street. Also subway is right below the hotel.

Nikko Osaka tarnishes Hotel Nikko RreputationPosted Dec 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was disappointed with Hotel Nikko Osaka. The Hotel Nikko has an excellent reputation. However Hotel Nikko Osaka does not live up to that reputation. There were a lot of scuff marks and some kind of nasty drip stains along the entrance wall of the room. The carpet on the 19th floor corridor, where I stayed, had many large stains and was torn-up and frayed along one of the carpet seams by the elevator area. The concierge English skills and assistance was inadequate. They charge guest 100 Yen per 15 minutes to use a computer in the lobby. (Even cheap Vietnamese hotels offered free computer already many, many years ago). In my opinion, the location was the only real plus for Hotel Nikko Osaka.

Good locationPosted Dec 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel's lobby is at the 2nd level and not so convenient. Service staff not so courteous here although we had experienced many very polite Japanese. The door key is too old fashion, not compatible with the hotel location was good just near Namba station

Excellent hotel conveniently located on subwayPosted Nov 9, 2013
Pros: Location is excellent - short ride on subway from Shin-Osaka, and access to hotel from subway [20 steps on arrival, abt about 12 on departure]
Cons: Room was quite hot, and altering thermostat didn't help.
Location: Excellent central location, close to subway, department stores and covered shopping street, as well as tourist sites.
Located above Shinsaibashi station in excellent shopping district - across road from Daimaru. Coin laundry within 100m, and lots of restaurants and bars to choose from.

Seems in Mid-RenovationPosted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: location, location, location
Cons: some rooms need renovation
Location: Hotel is in the heart of the city--right across from Shinsaibashi.
This was once a top Osaka hotel, and it is clearly in the midst of renovation. Last time I stayed here, some months back, I had a very nice room. This time, not so much. The “unit bath” was a downscale disappointment, and the room had no dresser drawers--so I lived out of a suitcase. Finally, the hotel has no gym facilities at all. While the location is great and the staff courteous and attentive, the facility doesn’t meet expectations.

Good locationPosted Oct 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel is in a good location for exploring the city and having a night out at the nearby Dotonbori. The room was small but of a good standard. I enjoyed the happy hour at the lounge on one of the top floors. Service was excellent in the lounge and throughout the hotel.
