A great location and convenient for shopping

A nice and clean hotel with a great location which is just opposite the Dotonbori Shopping area. Very convenient to subway station and hotel is very self-contained.

Something a little different and excellent

Posted Jun 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
Excellent location, fairly priced and wonderful service. I'm staying here again. Convenient to Dotonbori. There was even a nearby coin laundry (very worn but functional). If you have an all day subway pass (800yen per day), then you can cover the city quickly from the nearby subway stop at Nipponbashi. Tatami with futon and the furo downstairs made for a little different experience. Really good.

Japanese ryokan on the quieter end of Dotonbori

Posted Apr 29, 2014
Pros: Good location, right on Dotonbori and walking distance to Nippombashi metro station.
Cons: The street is quite noisy at night (it's Dotonbori after all). It would be good if windows were double glazed to reduce noise coming from the street.
Location: Dotonbori street is just across the road for lots of food, entertainment and shopping. Osaka Castle and aquarium are within 30 minutes by train.
A nice Japanese ryokan in Dotonbori. I've been to much higher quality ryokans (such as the one in Matsuyama with the same name) so this place felt a bit like a youth hostel on entry to the hotel. It's just the way other guests (mainly foreigners like myself) and hotel staff behaved and the general appearance on entry. But my room was alright with a small bath/shower, futons, TV. Could probably do with some refurbishment sometime soon as tatami looked a bit tired. Good English skills here and a relatively comfortable stay for the price paid. We didn't choose any meal plans so can't comment on the food.

Nice ryokan that's very close to Dotonbori/Namba

Posted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: Location - only steps to Dotonbori, which is the major tourist draw in this part of Osaka.
Cons: More electrical outlets (even just 2 more will do!). Condition of paper sliding doors (some tears were patched with clear tape)
Location: Dotonbori (major tourist and shopping street), Namba. 5 minutes to closest subway station, 10 more minutes to a JR station.
Stayed multiple nights in a 3 person room. Once the futons are laid out for the night, there's not a lot of room for much else (the futons will span from one side of the room to the other, leaving just enough space to still have tea) - which is to say that the room is probably better suited for 1-2 people. Room had only 2 electrical outlets, next to the minibar fridge, parts of which were covered in dust. Upon closer inspection, parts of the paper sliding doors dividing the sleeping area from sitting room were in a deteriorating condition, and had clearly been patched up over the years) The public baths were very clean and relaxing. Very friendly staff. They don't all speak English, but they provided us a sheet with staff photos indicating their levels of competency and experience with English, as well as their typical duty hours. There was no boiling water supply on our floor, but we brought the hot water vessel to the front desk and they got it filled up for us right away. Hotel also provided a page indicating current (seasonal) attractions, directions to get to them, operating hours, and even have discounted admissions tickets for some attractions for sale at the front desk.

Great hotel right next to Dotonbori area

Posted Jan 15, 2014
Pros: Location, the amazing staff, dispensers outside the lobby elevator, gift shop, room, toilet, etc...
Cons: Nothing comes to mind other than having a private subway under the hotel...
Location: 10-20 meters off the main road and a 5-10 min walk from the Dotonbori area where you have shopping and food everywhere... JR Line is 10-15 mins away
First things first, the staff were the best I met in Japan over my whole 16 days there... Location is great since it is on a street just off the main road and is a 5 min walk away from the start of the Dotonbori shopping/restaurant streets... The room was great and the little gift shop at the lobby was nice to see... It was great to have 2 drink dispensers just outside the elevators in the lobby which held grape Fanta (I was addicted and I am probably on the border of diabetes now)

Hotel stay

Posted Sep 17, 2013
Pros: Easy to locate and near the tourists shopping area
Good experience to stay in a Ryokan type hotel, very different from the usual type in the city
