The Hotel was in the heart of Oslo.Posted Aug 16, 2013
Pros: The staff was unbelievably accommodating. The gourmet breakfast buffet was included and was plentiful and delicious.
Cons: We had plumbing problems in the room, and while we had a plumber in, the problems persisted.
Location: The Hotel is in the heart of Oslo, Karl Johans Gate, near Parliament, the Palace, the National Theatre, art galleries, museums, and all shopping.
The good was that the Hotel was near everything, a short walk away from shopping and sightseeing. The bad thing was that it was two blocks from parking and, while 25% of the parking fee was deducted, parking was expensive and inconvenient. However, the convenience did outweigh the inconvenience.

Very noisy and bad security.Posted Aug 5, 2013
Pros: The location is great and very central.
Cons: Security definitely needs to be looked into.
Location: Lots of shopping and the harbor is a short walk away.
Pretty nice hotel, great location. Unfortunately, our room was situated right over the TGIFridays and they have loud music until 3 am on Fridays and Saturdays. There is also no air conditioning, which is common in Norway, but the noise forced us to have to close the windows. The other thing I found shocking was the lack of security. Anyone can just walk in and has access to the entire hotel. And there are long winding corridors, which we were in and one night we were confronted by a man right outside our room. He was babbling about something I couldn't understand, so we quickly got into our room and locked the door. Other hotels here have a system where you need to use your room key to gain access to the area surrounding the rooms. Not here, and that made me uneasy.

Nice room but lots of street noisePosted Jul 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
I thought our room was pretty nice. The bathroom was kind of small and the beds were your standard European singles that were pushed together. The location was perfect - close to both the train station and the harbor. The hotel is located on a busy street with many restaurants and does not have air conditioning so if it's warm out you will have to open the windows. If you get a room with a window facing the main street you will get a lot of street noise. I'm a heavy sleeper but I still couldn't sleep through the garbage trucks and street sweepers in the morning. There was also a horrible smell in the elevator for the two nights we were there. It smelled like an animal died in the elevator shaft. The staff tried to spray some air freshener but it didn't help. That being said I would probable stay there again due to the location.

Karl Johan 2 Night StayPosted Jul 31, 2013
Hotel in great downtown location. Use airport express to National Theater station - hotel just a few minutes away. No air conditioning in my room and plenty of sun so hot when I arrived. I kept windows open fully and staff provided a fan so final result was acceptable. Breakfast offerings were perfect for my tastes: several cereal choices; toppings choices; juice choices; yogurt choices; warm, fresh bread choices and a coffee machine to dial up your own cappuccino, latte, or espresso. I'd stay there again.

Great Oslo City BasePosted Jul 27, 2013
Pros: Its location
Cons: The nearby noisy Hard Rock Cafe
Location: Brilliant for the city
Excellent location in the centre of the city, easy to find and a good base for getting out and about. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfasts very good and set you up for the day. Although no tea and coffee making facilities in the room this did not matter as there were always supplies in the lounge on 3rd floor. Only one drawback - you've got to like late night rock music if you sleep with the window open!! The Hard Rock Café is close by.

Hotel in the center of OsloPosted Jul 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel is nice and very conveniently located, front desk personnel - friendly and accommodating. Very good breakfast. I don't think you can get a quite room in this hotel, though: rooms are either on the noisy street side or face the back yard with noisy ventilation machines, you cannot keep the window opened during the night.

Fantastic locationPosted Jul 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall, much about this hotel is excellent. A terrific price, a great location, clean rooms, very helpful staff and a good breakfast included. My only comment would be that, like many European hotels, the rooms suffer due to an inability to handle multiple hot days. In Oslo the temperature was only mid to late 20s (Clesius), but still I had to have the window open, the fan on and sleep on top of the bed. Some basic air conditioning would solve this. I actually meant to stop by the hotel counter to mention this, but on two occasions I heard other customers doing the same. In the end I tolerated it as it was a nuisance, but did not stop my overall enjoyment of Oslo.
