Good HotelPosted May 17, 2015
Pros: Overall experience.
Cons: Connect a telephone in the room. Offer tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Location: Isolated location; no shops or supermarkets around this area. Close to the airport and a museum is nearby.
If you don't mind staying 30 minutes drive away from the city centre then this hotel is reasonably good value for money. Like all others this hotel also has good and bad points about it. The good ones are that the hotel offers free parking if you are driving; breakfast is usually included in the price which starts at 0430 to 0930 and the Free WiFi actually works everywhere in the hotel. Hotel staff appeared professional, helpful and friendly. The not so good points are that the hotel has only twin bed rooms; a double beds is two singles beds pushed together and they separate as and when they like; not so good for couples who like to sleep together. The room had no telephone so if you want to talk to the reception staff for any reason you will have to physically go there. No tea / coffee making facilities in the room. No hair dryer in the bathroom. TV in the room had only 12 channels with two English channels. Hotel drinks were really expensive and I made a mistake of buying one only once. This hotel is good if you need to be close to the airport; also good if you are driving your own car. There are no shops of any kind or supermarkets around this area. I was visiting Oslo city for two days, I think next time I shall stay close to the city centre. This hotel is good for the good reasons mentioned above.

Nice hotel and close to the airport.Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: The hotel was very clean. They also had an excellent breakfast.
The hotel is close to the airport, but be sure to take the shuttle not a cab, We took a cab and were shocked to pay the equivalent of 44 Euros for a 1 way ride. What a shock for a 6.1 mile ride.

Hotel: Fine. Beware the shuttle bus!!Posted May 9, 2015
Cons: Free shuttle bus. Or nominal £1 fee.
A perfectly fine airport hotel - average in most ways - breakfast especially so. However - the one thing that made my blood boil was the cost of the shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel. For this you must buy a ticket of 70kr (or over £6/$9) to ride the 3-4minutes to the hotel. Then to go back to the airport you have to pay the same fare again. Thereby essentially adding £12 to the stay which leaves a very poor taste in the mouth. It's the first time I've ever been asked to pay for a shuttle service to an airport hotel - and to pay this exorbitant amount means I could NOT recommend this hotel.

Basic hotel close to airportPosted May 5, 2015
Pros: The breakfast.
Cons: Facilities to make tea/coffee in the room. Staff to tidy the breakfast area.
Location: The location is not great as there is only one way to get tho the hotel: take a bus that costs more than 7 pound for a single (for a 6 minute ride).
The hotel was ok. The room was quite small but it's ok for a short stay. Very basic though: no kettle, no tissues, no bath mat, no pen etc...Just a bed and a tv basically. The breakfast was good. But you have to clean up your table yourself. It seems that there wasn't a lot of staff working in this hotel.

Gardamoen Airport Hotel - Fair pricePosted May 4, 2015
Pros: Price was attractive. Good breakfast.
Cons: Better Wifi connection. Hotel interior could do with refresh.
Location: It's okay.
Nice restaurant with nice food, but a bit expencive. Room was small but fine. A bit of noise from the airport. Planes coming in/leaving. Wifi was not working in the room no signal, only a weak signal in the reception and restaurant area. You get free parking for one night.

Airport close byPosted Mar 28, 2015
Airport bus (90 kroner) to hotel was efficient and the hotel a good example of scandi-minimalism: for the price I would have expected something slightly better than a low-end Accor without even a coffee/tea facility in the room.

Simple, clean, convenient & good restaurantPosted Mar 26, 2015
I stayed here twice on my way into the country and one on my way out. It is very convenient, a short bus ride ($8.5 USD each-way) to and from the airport & it comes every 20 minutes. The rooms are small but clean. Bed's are comfortable, hot water. There is a TV although I never used it. The best part of this hotel is probably the restaurant. The food is quite good, it's a bit expensive per US standards, but for Norway the prices are probably quite fair. The complimentary breakfast is excellent. Fresh bread, fruits, scrambled, hard and soft boiled eggs, a variety of deli meats and delicious jams. My room was about $95/night which was the cheapest I could find. The train to Oslo city center will run you around $27 each way I think. So if you are trying to keep costs down and just need a place to sleep before getting on a plane this is definitely the place. The downside is that there is pretty much nothing to walk to besides another hotel nearby.
