Great location

Great location to everything. Buffet style breakfast. Typical hotel gym "spa pool" not for swimming. Hotel can do with an update still keep classic decor. Its nothing special. Four stars.

Elendig resepsjon, sen check in mulighet, lukter vondt, gamel, slitent og burde pusses opp. Rommet luktet vondt - dårlig luft - og var skittent.

Great historical hotel right in the square.

Pros: The staff, the Grand Cafe, the room, the service, the brunch is the best in Oslo.
Cons: The dinner was not as good as the brunch, service was fine but dinner did not out do the great brunch.
Location: Near everything, went to see the musical "Chicago" in the theater on the side of the hotel, cafe and National Gallery is right around the corner -
Arrived on Constitution Day, parade and all, great introduction to a grand hotel with style.

Meget sentralt. Noe oppskrytt hotel. SIKKERHET : Reagerte på at hvem som helst kunne gå inn i hotellets heiser uten å identifisere seg. Rommet i 6.etasje hadde ikke safe for PC og verdisaker. KOMFORT : Savnet morgenkåpe. Savnet buksepresse. Ellers god og hyggelig frokost i Caféen.

Perfect Location @ Karl Johan's Gate

Perfect check in off the overnight flight from Newark, modest, but perfectly comfortable room in just the right location...and boy is the Norwegian breakfast buffet awesome.

Fint hotel midt på Karl Johan.

Pros: Gode senger, god frokost, hyggelig personale og rommene var bra lyd isolert
Cons: Ekstra sengen på familie rommet
Location: Hotellet ligger bare noen få hundre meter fra Slottet i Oslo. Det er også ein del restauranter og butikker i området.
Fint hotel med fantastisk gode senger. Hotellet ligger flott til midt på Karl Johan og passer for dei som vil være der det skjer noe. Frokosten var av ypperlig kvalitet.

Hotel mit Vergangenheit

Pros: Café Grand
Location: Sehr zentral gelegen, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichbar.
Sehr nettes Service-Team, Wellness Bereich sehr klein (es gibt ein Schwimmbecken, eine kleine Sauna und eine offene Dusche - leider keine Umkleiden und kein WC), Bademantel nur über die Rezeption, Zimmer zum Innenhof haben keinen Ausblick (Beton und Klimageräte), Zimmerausstattung ok, Badezimmer renovierungsbedürftig. Sehr schön ist das Café Grand mit dem Gemälde von Per Krohg, hier gibt es ein sehr gutes Frühstück. Das Hotel ist zentral gelegen und besticht letztendlich durch seine Vergangenheit.

Weekend city break

Well located hotel, comfortable room though rather too warm (and unable to change the temperature). Nice pool and sauna, though ridiculous policy of having to pay 100k extra to change there, so took the free option (as most others did) of traipsing down corridors draped in towels! Excellent buffet breakfast.

No sleep - construction on roof

Pros: Location
Cons: Hotel tired. Constant unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Basic furnishings not 5 star standard.
Location: Walking distance to station, restaurants and shops.
We booked for four nights. The first 3 were fine, but note that the hotel is 'tired' and certainly not 5 star. We suspect Expedia buyers get last choice of rooms? The final night was a nightmare. The hotel is having something built on its roof, and the work was allowed to carry on all through the night. When we contacted reception they initially denied there was anything going on, then admitted there was, but that there was no one on site with authority to stop it. Very disappointing.
