Not worth the price, I won't stay there again.

Pros: Staff was generally very nice & helpful, and it's a serious breakfast spread. You don't really need lunch after that.
Cons: See above, the whole thing needs an upgrade and a much better job of fixing things before a guest has to complain about if.
Location: Close to the Foreign Ministry so convenient for meetings there. Two trams stop just around the corner so easy to get to the center of town,
First room was incredibly shabby with no heat and only lukewarm water in the shower. Like a storeroom where old furniture goes to die along with worn out wallpaper. Do not stay on the 20th floor (view was nice though). The second room, on the 3rd floor was much better. It had heat and hot water and a small terrace. However, everything in the bathroom with a hinge was broken and therefore difficult to use - e.g. The make up mirror which flopped forward & could only be used by holding it up. The same with the hand held shower. Doesn't anyone inspect the rooms before they put guests in them?

Station somewhere else.

Pros: The staff and the breakfast.
Cons: More comfortable beds and some tea and coffee in the room. Sort the temperature of the swimming pool out.
We stayed overnight this weekend on our way back from Reykjavik in a "family room", which was appears to be a standard room with an open sofa bed. For the cost it was a major disappointment. The beds were uncomfortable and our son said he could feel the springs in the sofa bed sticking in his back. We all had a shocking nights sleep and then to top it all off, in the morning we discovered there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The swimming pool is also freezing cold and we were told by a member of staff that they've had loads of complaints about it. On the positive side, the staff were all incredibly polite and helpful and the breakfast is superb but we all agreed that we wouldnt stay there again.

Below average

Cons: Staff needs to be trained in customer relationship and communication.
Location: Good location for all the sightseeing.
Firstly, got into room and the key card could not be slotted into the holder for electricity. Phoned operation and someone came round to find that the holder was loosed. Enquired about why there was no fridge (mini bar) in the room and got a reply that because of maintenance on that particular floor. However, we were not told when check-in and no apology was made. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast range was great. The facilities in the hotel was good, however the sauna was not hot (only 40deg C instead of above 60) for 2 out of 4 times we went and also the flooring was loose, almost stood on a nail. The worst thing was that workman starting drilling work at 6.30am on our last day there, so we got woken up by the working noise. When asked at reception, the only answer I got was that the workmen should have started at 9am. All the door locks were removed by the workmen already when we decided to go to breakfast at 7.30am since we got woken up anyway. Even a slight explanation or apology would be ok, but the only thing I got was they will look into it. Overall, although hotel in good location and has good facilities, but staff were below standard.

Nice hotel but looks a bit dated. Good location

The hotel is getting refurbished so maybe will look a bit better but it's clean and simple. The other one closer to the water is a bit more grand but the location in this one is a lot better.

Pros: Very well located, there was a bus service directly to and from the airport.
Cons: Some areas need updating
Location: Great location, Royal Palace, museums, restaurants etc near by.
The member of reception staff, Jakob, who checked us in was very helpful, friendly and informative. Our room had a wonderful view of the fjord.

Disappointment

This is a 2 * bed and breakfast. The staff are unhelpful. The bathroom was awful, old and not fit for a hotel. I looked at another room on 3rd floor, but that was awful too.

City Centre hotel.

Pros: Excellent breakfast (included in room cost). Good swimming pool.
Cons: The sensitivity of the room card keys. We were constantly having to have them re-programmed.
Location: Very central and conveniently located adjacent to the Airport Bus Stop. Shops, restaurants & tour buses were within easy reach on foot.
We were in a family room, 3rd floor. The room was lacking facilities which are to be expected in a four star rated hotel e.g. No coffee/tea making facilities; there were no towelling gowns (the swimming pool was in the basement); no slippers. All these things are expected these days.

Great views, quiet area, pretty central

Cleanliness of room/hotel: The maid would not always replace the empty toiletry products, but the room and common areas were kept clean, bathroom smelled a bit Quality of service: allowed us to store our bags when we arrived early and left late, which was really nice. They also looked up tourist information for us. Recommended a sight an hour away that had been closed for 9 years, not so nice. They did tell us about their penthouse bar and basement pool, but forgot to mention their free sauna. Hotel amenities: amazing breakfast totally worth it took 3 days to try it all, wifi, sauna, pool, bar, luggage storage, Narvesen store in hotel, basic room amenities like shampoo, soap, body wash, lotion, shower cap, big screen tv, desk, chairs, big comfy beds, in room and behind the desk safes, non smoking rooms, A/C, elevator, windows that open, umbrellas for borrowing Hotel location: 7 minutes from a central train, tram, and bus station, 5 minutes from the royal palace at the top of the pedestrian shopping street running through town, next to a tram station and next to the airport shuttle bus Overall: undergoing renovations, so it's going to be much nicer, I would stay there again, although it was expensive
